Job Summary:

Voyage Optimisation Manager will lead and scale a high-performance voyage optimisation function delivering safe, fuel-efficient, and commercially optimal routing decisions across a global fleet. This role blends operational excellence, and product influence, ensuring best service delivery while shaping next-generation optimisation solutions.

Task & Responsibilities:

1.Voyage Optimization & Service Delivery

• Monitor end-to-end voyage optimisation across the fleet, ensuring safety, fuel efficiency, and schedule reliability
• Ensure deliver high-quality weather routing, voyage planning, and decision support within SLA timelines
• Provide real-time advisory to Masters and Operators during dynamic voyage conditions
• Intervene directly on complex or high-risk voyages

2.24/7 Operations Leadership

• Lead and manage a 24/7/365 routing desk with full accountability for service continuity
• Own shift planning, workload distribution, and escalation protocols
• Ensure consistent delivery standards across all shifts

3. Team Leadership & Capability Building

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of routing
• Drive performance management, training, and certification standards
• Build a strong talent pipeline and retention strategy
• Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement

4. Customer & Commercial Impact

• Act as a trusted advisor to clients, translating data into actionable voyage decisions
• Support commercial teams with client engagement, onboarding, and value demonstration
• Ensure delivery of measurable outcomes: Fuel savings, Emissions reduction, Voyage reliability

5. Process Excellence & SOP Governance

• Define and continuously improve routing SOPs and operational frameworks
• Standardise best practices across vessels, routes, and cargo types
• Drive quality assurance and audit mechanisms

6. Product & Technology Collaboration

• Work closely with product and software teams to:
• Improve routing algorithms, Enhance decision-support tools, Integrate vessel performance and weather data
• Act as the voice of operations in product roadmap discussions
• Leverage analytics to identify optimisation opportunities

Qualification & Experience:

Master Mariner with 2-3 years shore experience in voyage optimisation / fleet performance

OR

Senior Meteorologist with demonstrated experience in marine forecasting, voyage planning, and decision support for maritime operations.

Knowledge & Skills:

1. Deep understanding of: Voyage optimisation , weather routing, Marine meteorology and ocean conditions
2. Strong foundational knowledge in at least one of the following: Geography, Oceanography or Marine Meteorology.
3. Working knowledge of: Fuel optimisation & vessel performance analytics
4. Digital routing platforms / decision-support tools
5. Exposure to algorithm-based or automated routing systems preferred
6. Strong team player with high cultural awareness and the ability to collaborate effectively in a global, cross-functional environment.
7. Proven ability to lead 24/7 operational teams
8. Strong decision-making under uncertainty and time pressure
9. Excellent stake holder management
10. High ownership mindset with a commercial and customer-first approach
