About the Team


The Operating Services team is a central function that supports Mizuho Pune by driving operational efficiency, governance, and process standardization. The team integrates key enabling capabilities, including Chief of Staff, COO support, Business Management, Transition Management (TMO), Value / Benefits Realization (VRO) and Communications.


It provides structured oversight to ensure consistent execution of transitions, knowledge transfer, and change initiatives, while maintaining strong adherence to internal policies, controls, and risk management frameworks. Through its integrated approach, the team enables effective demand management, enhances operational performance, and supports the delivery of strategic priorities across Mizuho Pune.


Summary:


In this role, you will act as a bridge between global business, IT, and transformation teams to drive successful transitions across the organization. The role involves planning, governing, supporting and monitoring multi-wave transitions, ensuring Day-1 readiness, and providing actionable insights to mitigate risks and optimize operational continuity.


Responsibilities include coordinating transition activities, tracking knowledge transfer, supporting governance forums, and enabling standardization across functions and regions. The Transition Management Officer will collaborate closely with global leaders, HR, Facilities, and IT service management teams to identify risks, monitor KPIs, and communicate progress and outcomes to senior stakeholders.


The ideal candidate will have strong experience in transition management, SDLC lifecycle, knowledge management and multi-wave organizational programs, with the ability to engage stakeholders across global teams. Strong analytical skills, stakeholder engagement, attention to detail, and effective communication are critical to success in this role.


Responsibilities:


  • Define transition scope, wave plans, timelines, and milestones in alignment with global and India stakeholders; maintain the integrated transition plan with clear dependencies and sequencing
  • Drive transition execution by managing detailed plans, including RAID logs, RACI, and structured status reporting to ensure visibility and control across all workstreams
  • Design and manage Knowledge Transfer (KT) plans, covering scope, schedules, and participants; track progress through shadowing, reverse shadowing, and assessments to ensure effective transfer and formal sign-off
  • Govern stage gates and readiness checkpoints by defining entry/exit criteria and validating readiness across people, process, tools, access, and controls prior to go-live
  • Conduct Day-1 readiness and coordinate cutover and hypercare activities to ensure service continuity, stability, and minimal disruption during transition
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, controls, and regulatory requirements throughout the transition lifecycle, including audit readiness and documentation standards
  • Act as the central coordination point for all transition activities, enabling structured communication and alignment across global stakeholders
  • Identify and actively manage transition risks, dependencies, and critical path items; define mitigation plans and drive timely escalation
  • Support governance forums by preparing dashboards, progress updates, and insights for leadership reviews and decision-making
  • Continuously review transition processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and delays; implement improvements, standardization, and automation where applicable
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation covering transition plans, stage gate approvals, KT outputs, decisions, lessons learned, and post-transition evaluations


Qualifications:


  • 12+ years of experience in transition management within global banking environments. Experience leading multi-wave, global, or offshore transitions.
  • Bachelors or masters degree in IT, Engineering, Business, or a related field. Certifications such as ITIL, PMP, or Prince2 preferred.
  • Hands-on experience managing the end-to-end transition lifecycle including planning, knowledge transfer, assessments, cutover, and hyper-care. Experience developing SOPs, process maps, RACI matrices, and transition dashboards.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across IT, HR, Finance, and global delivery teams. Experience facilitating workshops and executive reviews.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify risks, resolve issues, and ensure operational readiness. Attention to detail in monitoring KPIs and operational readiness.
  • Proactive in adopting best practices and driving process improvements through new tools and techniques.
