Teradata GCP Data Engineer

About Position:

Responsible for migrating a largescale wholesale banking data mart from onprem Teradata to Google BigQuery, including schema redesign, SQL conversion, and ETL/ELT orchestration. Designs performanceoptimized, costefficient BigQuery data models while ensuring data accuracy, controls, lineage, and regulatory readiness. Collaborates with business and technical stakeholders to deliver secure, productionready analytics solutions with postmigration support and optimization.

What You'll Do:

• Migration of a wholesale banking datamart from OnPrem Teradata to GCP BigQuery. Data sourced from multiple upstream systems via complex ETL pipelines with business logic embedded in Teradata stored procedures.
• Final curated datasets support various use cases inclusing FR Y regulatory submissions, making data accuracy, controls, lineage, audit readiness, and formal migration signoff critical responsibilities for this role.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• Strong handson experience migrating largescale datasets from On Prem to Google BigQuery Deep expertise in BigQuery data modeling, including table design, partitioning, clustering, and costefficient query patterns
• Advanced SQL proficiency, with proven experience converting RDBMS SQL, stored procedures and complex transformation logic into BigQuerycompatible SQL
• Handson experience designing and orchestrating ETL/ELT pipelines using Apache Airflow (Cloud Composer), including DAG development and dependency management Experience building batch data pipelines and managing multisource data ingestion into BigQuery Experience implementing data quality checks, reconciliation, and integrity controls during migration Experience with postmigration performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting, including use of Cloud Logging and monitoring tools Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, migration strategies, and production readiness standards"
