Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer L3 to support and manage enterprise
customer environments within a Managed Services (MSP) model.
This role requires strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Azure, including infrastructure,
networking, identity, and cloud operations. The engineer will act as an L3 escalation point, resolving
complex incidents, supporting cloud deployments, and ensuring high availability, performance, and
security of customer environments.
The role also involves customer interaction, cross-team collaboration, and contribution to
continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Azure Implementation & Support
Implement and support Azure IaaS and PaaS services for new and existing customers
Deploy and manage Azure Landing Zone components under architectural guidance
Support Azure Active Directory (Entra ID) environments
Manage and maintain Azure Virtual Machines, App Services, and Azure Virtual Desktop
(AVD)
Perform patching, monitoring, and operational maintenance of cloud workloads
2. Networking, DR & Infrastructure Management
Configure and troubleshoot Azure Networking:
o VNets, NSGs, UDRs, VPN Gateway
o Load Balancer, Application Gateway (WAF), Traffic Manager, Front Door
Implement and support Disaster Recovery solutions using Azure Site Recovery (ASR)
Conduct DR drills, testing, and monitoring
Ensure system availability, performance, and security
3. Incident Management & L3 Escalation
Act as L3 escalation point for complex incidents from L2 teams
Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, and platform-level issues
Participate in incident bridges and major incident management
Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement preventive actions
Handle escalations with customers at both technical and managerial levels
4. Automation, Deployment & DevOps Support
Execute deployments using:
o ARM templates, Bicep, Terraform
o PowerShell or Azure CLI
Contribute to automation and process improvement initiatives
Support Azure DevOps / Infrastructure-as-Code practices (basic exposure)
5. Customer Engagement & Collaboration
Act as a technical liaison between customers, support teams, and engineering teams
Participate in technical discussions and solutioning for customer challenges
Educate customers on Azure managed services and cloud best practices
Support project delivery and ensure milestones are met on time
6. M365 & Productivity Solutions
Plan and support Microsoft 365 (O365) deployments and adoption
Hands-on experience with:
o Exchange Online
o SharePoint Online
o OneDrive for Business
o Microsoft Teams, Planner
o Intune
7. Operations, Documentation & Continuous Improvement
Maintain runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge base documentation
Capture and share best practices across teams
Support process improvement, reporting, and operational excellence initiatives
Contribute to business growth through quality service delivery
Required Skills & Experience
Experience
59 years of experience in Azure / Cloud / Infrastructure operations
Experience working in MSP or enterprise cloud environments
Strong background in production support and cloud operations
Technical Expertise
Hands-on experience in:
Azure Virtual Machines (IaaS)
Azure Networking (VNets, NSGs, VPN Gateway, Load Balancer)
Azure App Services & Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
Azure Site Recovery (Disaster Recovery)
Azure Monitor & troubleshooting
Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC (basic to intermediate)
Networking concepts: DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, NAT, VIPs
Additional Technical Skills
Familiarity with:
o Linux / Operating Systems / Virtualization
o Databases (basic understanding)
o Development tools and troubleshooting
Exposure to automation and scripting (PowerShell / CLI / Terraform)
Soft Skills
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Excellent communication and customer handling abilities
Ability to manage priorities, timelines, and project deliverables
Self-motivated and capable of working independently and in teams
Qualifications & Certifications
BE / BTech / MCA / MS
Preferred Certifications
AZ-900 Azure Fundamentals
AZ-104 Azure Administrator
DP-900 Azure Data Fundamentals
AZ-500 Azure Security
AZ-303 (or equivalent architect-level exposure)
AZ-140 (good to have)
