Technical Assistant – Mechanical | Autonomous Marine Systems

The Role

We are seeking a skilled Technical Assistant with a strong mechanical background to support our product development and manufacturing operations. In this role, you'll work hands-on with our engineering team to ensure our autonomous underwater vehicles meet the highest performance and reliability standards. Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support in mechanical assembly, fabrication, and maintenance of autonomous marine vessels
• Assist in testing, troubleshooting, and quality control of mechanical systems and components
• Handle procurement of mechanical parts, tools, and materials; manage inventory and vendor coordination
• Support workshop operations including equipment setup, calibration, and preventive maintenance
• Perform administrative tasks such as documentation, filing, and coordinating with suppliers and clients
• Maintain a clean, organised work environment, ensuring safety and efficiency in the workshop

Required Qualifications

• ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 2-6 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or workshop environment
• Strong understanding of basic mechanical principles, machining processes, and assembly techniques
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical specifications
• Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel)
• Strong problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes

• Preferred Experience
• Experience in marine, aerospace, or defense manufacturing environments
• Familiarity with quality control processes and documentation
• Candidates based in Bengaluru are preferred
