Technical Asset Manager

Experience: 10-12 years

Reports to: Head of Asset Management, India


Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Asset Manager for our portfolio of projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for all technical contract management, expertise in SCADA, data process flow, management reporting, managing TAM and ROC teams, coordinate between site team and TAM team for improving the plant performance, value creation initiatives and ensure WHSE standards and compliance with BLE policy and procedures by the contractors at site.


Job Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.


  • Oversee the performance and optimization of the plant (wind, solar and BESS technologies), ensuring maximum efficiency and profitability to achieve the generation targets.
  • Asset Management Software Expertise: Utilize specialized asset management software as per internal requirements, track asset performance, generate tickets & reports, and streamline operations.
  • Provide inputs for local SCADA implementation including review of architecture, hardware, mimic diagrams, HMI etc during EPC stage and support for troubleshooting & maintenance during the operational stage.
  • Experience in setting up and managing the ROC (Remote Operation Centre) is a plus.
  • Coordinate daily operations of assets with inhouse site team and ROC, including monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing maintenance protocols.
  • Coordinate with commercial team for F&S and Energy trading on Exchanges for optimization
  • Provide technical support and detailed calculations of KPIs for solar and wind to track the technical plant performance against the guaranteed parameters by the contractor.
  • Monitor asset performance, technical KPIs and identifying any deviations (gap analysis) from expected performance levels and implementing corrective actions proactively.
  • Collecting and analysing data related to asset performance, energy production, and maintenance activities to generate management reports and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Coordinate with the inhouse site team to review O&M manuals, Preventive Maintenance plans, support for Corrective Maintenance, any other technical aspects, review of RCA reports provided by the O&M Contractors for wind and solar.
  • Provide technical inputs during RFP & signing of EPC contracts for wind and solar, Managing O&M contracts with Solar EPC, Wind OEM, BOP (Balance of Plant), Equipment Suppliers (like Modules, Inverters, Transformers etc) and ensure regular tracking of technical performance. Technical management of other contracts like remote monitoring software, minor work orders required for optimum performance and maintenance of the plant.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and clients to provide regular updates on technical asset performance, gap analysis and strategic initiatives taken to improve the performance.
  • Undertake periodic site visits at plant during commissioning and operational phase for coordinating and supervising regular inspections, preventive maintenance, end of warranty inspections to ensure the smooth operation of assets, maximizing energy production and minimizing downtime.
  • Past experience to perform technical due diligence for acquisition of new plants and provide technical assessment reports to the investment team is a plus.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with asset management, proactively addressing potential issues to safeguard investments and lead the design and implementation of new asset management policies and procedures, continuously improving efficiency and compliance standards.

Skills and qualifications:

  1. Bachelors/Masters degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
  2. Proven track record in Asset Management of large-scale utility projects in solar and wind (> 500 MW) with a focus on optimizing asset performance and profitability.
  3. Proficiency in software systems such as ERP CMMS Software & Monitoring and Asset Management Software.
  4. Strong understanding of solar and wind energy systems, technical- contract management, performance metrics.
  5. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse stakeholders.
  6. Critical eye for maintaining WHSE standards and ensure 100% compliance.
  7. Detail-oriented mindset, with a focus on accuracy and precision and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid or remote environment, demonstrating initiative and self-motivation.
  8. Strong analytical skills with advanced expertise in MS Office softwares (Excel, Power Point, Power BI and Word)
