Job Description: Card Risk Reporting & Analytics — Senior Associate

Description

Chase Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) delivers a wide range of financial services to consumers and small businesses, including personal banking, lending, mortgages, credit cards, payments, auto finance, and investment advice. The CCB Risk Management team partners with each sub-line of business to identify, assess, and remediate risks—spanning fraud, reputational, operational, credit, market, and regulatory domains.

Role Overview

The Card Risk Reporting & Analytics team provides advanced analytics, reporting, and data support to the Card Risk organization across the full credit card franchise, including consumer and business credit cards. This Senior Associate role balances - deep-dive analytics spanning the end-to-end credit card customer and account lifecycle with Portfolio monitoring and executive reporting for senior business partners (including the CRO and other leadership stakeholders) . The role requires strong analytical rigor, disciplined controls, and the ability to synthesize insights from internal and external data sources (e.g., Experian, C360, and other enterprise datasets) into clear, decision-ready narratives.

 

Key Responsibilities : 

 

  • Own recurring executive reporting for senior leadership (including CRO-level routines), ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and clear executive-ready narratives.
  • Monitor consumer and business card portfolio performance and KRIs, including delinquency/roll rates, losses/charge-offs, utilization/payment behavior, risk migration, vintage performance, originations mix, and concentration exposures.
  • Develop variance commentary and forward-looking insights, translating trends into key drivers, implications, and recommended focus areas.
  • Lead lifecycle deep-dives across acquisition/origination, early performance, line management, engagement/spend, delinquency, collections outcomes, and attrition to identify emerging risks and performance drivers.
  • Integrate internal and external data sources (including Experian and C360) to enhance segmentation, early warning signals, and decision-quality insights.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and impact sizing for unexpected changes (mix shifts, policy/process changes, macro impacts, channel/offer changes) and present findings in an executive-ready format.
  • Ensure strong data governance and cross-functional delivery, including controls (definitions, reconciliations, runbooks, change logs), dashboard/migration support (requirements, validation, UAT), and audit/exam readiness (documentation and audit trails).

Candidate Profile :

  • Strong understanding of consumer business lending fundamentals, with familiarity in credit card portfolio dynamics.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented; able to deliver executive reporting while independently driving lifecycle deep-dives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to synthesize complex analysis into concise, leadership-ready narratives.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and ownership-oriented; effective cross-functionally and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills :

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 6+ years in risk management, portfolio analytics, data analytics, or reporting (credit cards preferred).
  • Strong technical skills in SQL/Python/SAS and experience working with large datasets; advanced SQL/Python and automation/data mart development is a plus.
  • Proficiency in visualization/reporting tools (Tableau/Power BI) with a strong data governance and controls mindset (definitions, reconciliations, lineage, change management).
  • Experience with consumer and business card portfolios and integrating external bureau data (e.g., Experian) and enterprise datasets (e.g., C360); strong stakeholder management and data storytelling skills.
