About the Role

We are looking for a high-impact State Head who can own the entire state business like a P&L leader driving revenue, strengthening retail partnerships, and ensuring flawless execution across Modern Trade and Premium General Trade.

This role is ideal for someone who understands ground-level retail dynamics, distributor ecosystems, and how to scale sales through people, processes, and partnerships.

Your Core Mission

  • Drive end-to-end state revenue (Primary + Secondary Sales)
  • Strengthen presence across Modern Trade & Premium GT channels
  • Deliver best-in-class in-store execution & visibility
  • Build and lead high-performing sales & promoter teams

Key Responsibilities

State Sales Ownership

  • Own and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the state
  • Drive sell-in (primary) and sell-out (secondary) across all key accounts
  • Ensure stock availability, demand planning, and inventory rotation
  • Identify growth opportunities across cities, stores, and channels

Key Account & Retail Management

  • Manage large accounts such as Croma, Reliance Digital, Vijay Sales, along with key regional chains
  • Build strong relationships with Category Heads, Zonal Managers & Store Leadership
  • Negotiate visibility, display space, and trade marketing initiatives
  • Drive store-level activations, product launches, and seasonal campaigns

Team & Distributor Leadership

  • Lead a team of Area Managers, Sales Executives, and In-Shop Promoters (ISPs)
  • Manage distributors, channel partners, and retail networks
  • Drive productivity metrics: conversion, sales per promoter, ROI on schemes
  • Ensure training, performance management, and incentive alignment

Execution & Operations Excellence

  • Ensure seamless execution of trade programs, schemes, and marketing campaigns
  • Act as the bridge between Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Retail Partners
  • Monitor compliance with commercial agreements and payouts
  • Manage budgets for trade marketing, promoters, and visibility spends

Data, Insights & Governance

  • Track weekly/monthly dashboards and business KPIs
  • Analyze sell-out trends, consumer demand, and store performance
  • Identify underperforming areas and implement corrective strategies
  • Present state business reviews to leadership with actionable insights

What Were Looking For

  • 712 years of experience in Modern Trade / Retail Sales (Electronics preferred)
  • Proven track record of managing state-level or large territory business
  • Strong exposure to key accounts + distributor management
  • Experience in leading large field teams & promoter networks
  • Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management & leadership skills
  • Strong business acumen (P&L, budgeting, trade spends)
