Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Kharagpur (WB) for a Sr. Engineer - Extruder (rPET). In this role, you will oversee the operation and maintenance of the Twin Screw Extruder which would be producing B2B Rpet resin from Pet Flakes. You have to ensure optimal performance and output quality for rPET production. Responsibilities will include monitoring production processes, troubleshooting issues, coordinating with the maintenance team for repairs, and implementing efficiency improvements. The Sr. Engineer will also ensure adherence to regulatory standards and contribute to achieving the companys sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Excellence:Oversee the end-to-end operation of Twin Screw Extruders, managing parameters such as melt temperature, vacuum levels, and Intrinsic Viscosity (IV).
• Process Optimization:Implement strategies to improve throughput, reduce energy consumption, and minimize material waste.
• Maintenance & Troubleshooting:Diagnose mechanical and process issues in real-time. Coordinate with the maintenance team for preventive and breakdown repairs of the extruder, pelletizers, filtration & vacuum systems.
• Quality Assurance:Monitor production to ensure rPET resin meets food-grade specifications and color standards

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 35 years of experience in plastic extrusion, with a strong preference for candidates from the rPET or Polyester industry.
• Technical Mastery: In-depth knowledge of Twin Screw Extruder mechanics, screen changers, degassing & Filtration systems.
• Analytical Mindset: Proven ability to troubleshoot complex polymer processing issues and Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilitie
• Communication: Strong leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a plant environment.
