THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Squad Engineering Leader for Agentic, you will translate complex business processes into executable AI agent workflows configuring, integrating, and operating autonomous agents that drive measurable enterprise outcomes with full auditability and human-in-the-loop oversight. You will also lead a cross-functional squad, providing technical direction, fostering a high-performance culture, and ensuring consistent, on-time delivery.


- Design and configure AI agents, mapping business logic into agent tasks, decision trees, and sub-agent chains.

- Integrate autonomous agents into broader IT and business process ecosystems connecting LLMs, REST APIs, credential libraries, and data sources.

- Configure specialised sub-agents for operations such as data extraction, forecasting, anomaly detection, and workflow automation.

- Ensure all agentic workflows are observable, auditable, and compliant with enterprise governance and business rules.

- Collaborate with business stakeholders to elicit requirements, validate outcomes, and iterate quickly based on real-world performance.

- Lead, mentor, and grow a cross-functional engineering squad, setting clear technical standards and fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.

- Drive Agile ceremonies sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives ensuring the squad maintains a healthy, prioritised backlog and predictable delivery cadence.

- Act as the primary technical escalation point for the squad, removing blockers, resolving ambiguity, and shielding the team from unplanned interruptions.

- Conduct regular code and design reviews, enforcing engineering best practices, security standards, and architectural consistency across agentic solutions.

- Partner with Product Owners and business stakeholders to translate strategy into squad-level objectives, OKRs, and sprint goals.

- Support hiring, onboarding, and career development of squad members, providing structured feedback and coaching.

- Report on squad velocity, technical risks, and delivery health to senior leadership, escalating dependencies proactively.



REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS


Must-Have

- 5+ years of experience in AI orchestration, enterprise automation, or workflow design.

- 2+ years in an engineering leadership role tech lead, squad lead, or equivalent with direct people management or strong mentoring responsibility.

- BE/BTech/MBA (or above) in a Computer Science-related field.

- Background in a specific business domain: finance, healthcare, supply chain, HR, or legal.

- Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and REST API integration.

- Hands-on experience with agentic frameworks (LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGen, LlamaIndex, or similar).

- Strong problem-solving skills ability to decompose complex business processes into logic models AI can execute.

- Understanding of enterprise governance, auditability, and human-in-the-loop AI principles.

- Experience with low-code/no-code automation platforms (e.g., Workload Automation, Power Automate, Zapier, Appian, or similar).

- Proven ability to run Agile squads sprint planning, backlog management, and iterative delivery.

- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.

- Track record of building psychologically safe, high-performing teams through coaching, constructive feedback, and clear goal-setting.


Nice-to-Have

- Familiarity with vector databases and semantic search for RAG pipelines.

- Experience contributing to hiring processes, including technical interviews and evaluation frameworks.

- Exposure to inner-source or platform engineering practices within large enterprise environments.

- Familiarity with engineering metrics (DORA, cycle time, deployment frequency) and tooling used to track squad health.
