Role: SQL DBA & Devops

Location: Mohali / Pune

Notice Period: Immediate Only

Experience : 8+ Years

• Administer and optimize MS SQL Server environments in live, multi-region AWS and Azure production deployments
• Manage SQL Server on AWS RDS and Azure SQL Database in high-availability configurations
• Ensure uptime, performance, and resilience of mission-critical systems
• Design and maintain cross-region disaster recovery and failover strategies
• Perform proactive capacity planning and performance optimization

Automation and DevOps

• Implement automation for database provisioning, scaling, patching, monitoring, and lifecycle management
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for database and application deployments
• Support Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, and cloud-native DevOps practices
• Develop scripts and tooling for migrations, upgrades, and environment standardization

Security and Compliance

• Enforce database security best practices including role-based access control, encryption in transit and at rest, and auditing
• Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements
• Proactively identify and mitigate risks in production environments

Incident Response and Reliability

• Participate in an on-call rotation for production support
• Troubleshoot and resolve production database and infrastructure incidents
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive improvements
• Continuously improve monitoring, alerting, and operational visibility

Collaboration

• Work closely with engineering, cloud, and security teams to support scalable and resilient systems
• Provide guidance on database architecture and cloud best practices

Required Qualifications:

• 5 or more years of hands-on MS SQL Server administration in live production environments
• Demonstrated experience managing multi-region, high-availability SQL deployments in AWS and Azure
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS RDS for SQL Server and Azure SQL Database
• Deep expertise in query optimization, performance tuning, indexing strategies, and execution plan analysis
• Strong knowledge of backup, restore, and high-availability configurations
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
• Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python
• Proven experience responding to and resolving production incidents
• Ability to operate effectively in high-pressure production environments
• Strong communication and cross-team collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Azure SQL Hyperscale and Elastic Pool
• Experience migrating SQL Server workloads between AWS and Azure
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, ARM, or CloudFormation
• Experience with monitoring and observability platforms
• AWS, Azure, or Microsoft SQL certifications
