Job Description

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled SQL Server Expert with strong solution design and architectural thinking capable of working independently and engaging directly with Marvell project or program managers DBA teams and internal stakeholders This role combines hands on DBA work with solution design responsibilities and requires someone who can operate as an extension of the Marvell team

Key Responsibilities

• Architectural and Design Responsibilities
• Participate in designing and architecting scalable secure and efficient SQL Server solutions
• Translate business needs into database design and implementation plans
• Recommend best practices standards and improvements to SQL Server environments

Hands on DBA Responsibilities

• Build and configure new SQL Server environments including OS setup SQL Server installation patching and feature implementation
• Install and implement new SQL Server features as required by the project
• Perform query tuning indexing strategy design execution plan analysis and other performance optimizations
• Implement and manage high availability and disaster recovery solutions such as Always On Availability Groups clustering replication and backup or restore procedures
• Conduct proactive health checks capacity planning system audits and environment optimization
• Troubleshoot complex SQL Server issues and provide detailed root cause analysis

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

• Work closely with Marvell project or program managers internal managers and the DBA team
• Function as an extended member of the Marvell team with strong ownership and accountability
• Maintain detailed documentation of installations procedures designs and environment configurations
• Ensure adherence to security compliance and governance standards

Required Qualifications

• 7 to 10 years of hands on experience working as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments
• Strong experience with SQL Server 2016 2019 2022 installation configuration and administration
• Strong T SQL skills for scripting tuning and troubleshooting
• Good understanding of HA or DR architecture including Always On clustering replication and backups
• Experience with server builds SQL upgrades migrations and patching
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage workload autonomously
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Azure SQL Managed Instance or SQL on Azure VMs
• PowerShell scripting or automation experience
• Knowledge of DevOps practices for database deployments
• Relevant certifications such as Azure Database Administrator Associate are a plus
