Job Description
Job Role: SQA Audio Engineer
Experience: 6 to 15 Years
Location: Bangalore
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute test strategies, plans, and harnesses for audio systems.
- Validate audio pipelines, codecs (lossy & lossless), and presentation engines (including lip-sync).
- Set up and test with microphones, speakers, and acoustic measurement tools.
- Debug and analyze using JTAG, probes, signal analyzers, minicom, adb shell, and Linux tools.
- Monitor AV sync, decode/encode timing, and other audio performance metrics.
- Collaborate with offshore QA teams for test execution, reporting, and release sign-off.
- Prepare detailed validation plans covering regular and corner consumer scenarios.
- Provide test infrastructure to engineering teams to improve product quality.
Must-Have Technical Skills:
- Hands-on testing of audio codecs across hardware platforms.
- IoT/VoIP audio experience or certification.
- Knowledge of audio pipelines, signal processing, codecs, formats, noise cancellation.
- Experience with audio frameworks: ALSA, Xtensa, gst-launch, ffplay.
- Comfortable in Linux environment with basic scripting (pytest).
- Experience in AV sync testing and frame-by-frame decode/encode measurement.
