Job Description
The role is execution focused and analytical, contributing directly to model evaluation testing, documentation, issue analysis, and emerging technology risk assessments under the guidance of senior validation leadership.
The Specialist will work closely with model owners, developers, and risk stakeholders to enable the safe, compliant, and responsible adoption of AI, supporting robust, well‑documented, model risk management practices.
1) AI Model Evaluation Support
Support independent evaluation activities for a range of models, including:
Machine learning and advanced analytics models.
Generative AI and emerging AI systems (e.g. LLMs, agentic workflows).
Prepare AI model evaluation artifacts, including:
Model evaluation reports and supporting analyses.
Test result summaries.
Slides and briefing materials for internal governance forums.
Assist in identifying model limitations, risks, and control gaps, and support:
Clear articulation of evaluation findings.
Documentation of issues, remediation actions, and follow‑ups.
Adoption and continuous improvement of AI model evaluation best practices across Nasdaq.
Support preparation of materials for:
Risk committees and internal governance bodies.
Regulatory and audit inquiries.
2) New Technologies Risk Support
Research & Analysis
Contribute to targeted, forward-looking research on the development, implementation, and best‑practice governance of new technologies, such as:
Generative AI and agentic systems.
Advanced cryptographic methods.
Quantum computing
Knowledge Development
Assist with development of internal mentorship, research notes, or learning materials related to new technologies and model risk topics.
Master's degree or higher in a STEM team.
3 Years or more of meaningful experience in one or more of:
Model evaluation, validation, or model risk management.
Quantitative modelling.
Data science or advanced analytics.
Hands-on experience with:
Statistical analysis and model performance evaluation, ideally using python.
Building agentic solutions.
Strong analytical writing and documentation skill.
Proficiency in software engineering, especially familiarity with AWS, is considered advantageous.
Excellent oral and written English skills.
