Role Description

The Sourcing Engineer shall be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing suppliers for materials, components, and services required for manufacturing operations. The role focuses on supply chain and cost optimization, supplier performance, quality, delivery, and risk management while supporting new product development and operational requirements. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bangalore, requiring proactive collaboration with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure timely delivery and quality of materials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source and develop suppliers for raw materials, fabricated parts, electrical/electronic components, packaging, and indirect purchases as applicable.
• Evaluate supplier capability, capacity, quality systems, and commercial competitiveness.
• Lead RFQ/RFP processes, negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, and contracts.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives through alternate sourcing, value engineering, and process improvements.
• Monitor supplier performance on quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness.
• Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, Production, Planning, and Stores teams to ensure uninterrupted supply.
• Support new product introduction (NPI) and localization activities.
• Conduct supplier audits and implement corrective actions where required.
• Maintain sourcing documentation, supplier databases, and procurement records.
• Track market trends, commodity prices, and supply risks.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

• B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Production, or related engineering discipline.
• 45 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience handling supplier evaluation and vendor development.
• Strong understanding of technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of Supplier Quality standards and management
• Proficiency in Procurement and Supply Chain Management practices
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Analytical skills to evaluate supplier performance and identify areas for improvement
• Experience in the electrical or manufacturing industry is preferred
