What you'll do...

About Team: 

Data Platforms is responsible for running Walmart's enterprise data infrastructure at global scale. Managed SQL, noSQL database platforms like Cassandra, postgres, SQLserver, azure SQL on multi-cloud  (on-prem, Azure, GCP) foot print. The Mission is to automation database operation life cycles seamlessly and integrate with various data tool to bring common standards across platforms. By building intuitive, standards-based DB abstraction layers —the team enables developers in the Walmart Global Tech organization to work efficiently across diverse database management systems deployed as PaaS and IaaS solutions. AI & ML solutions to achieve the mission and accelerate development, and ensure portability and scalability for Walmart’s applications, supporting our multi-cloud strategy with best-of-breed datastore technology landscape.

What You’ll Do:

Build Java-based backend services (Spring Boot, Microservices) for data platform automation

• Develop UI and self‑service tools for Data activities

• Integrate AI/ML or LLM-based capabilities for predictive insights and intelligent remediation

• Automate provisioning, monitoring, scaling, upgrades and CI/CD pipelines to enhance efficiency and reliability.

• Work closely with DBAs and Platform Engineers

• Develop cloud‑native solutions using Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines

What You’ll bring:

Strong Java development (Java 11+, Spring Boot)

• Full Stack experience (REST APIs + React/Angular or similar)

• Exposure to SQL and/or NoSQL databases Postgres, SQL, Cassandra etc. 

• AI/ML or Generative AI integration experience (must-have)

• Experience building automation or internal platforms

Nice to Have

• Exposure to Cassandra, Cosmos DB, Kafka

• Python for AI/ML workflows

• Experience in data platform or infrastructure automation

Experience range will be between 4-6 years of relevant work experience.
