ServiceNow Platform Developer

Client Introduction

In this role, you will collaborate closely with one of our esteemed clientsa global leader in their industry, recognized for their commitment to quality, innovation, and excellence. They have partnered with Dautom as their trusted IT consulting provider for upcoming strategic initiatives.

Role Summary

The ServiceNow Platform Developer owns the platform-side development of the Source-to-Pay (S2P) solution. Responsible for translating approved business requirements into a scalable, upgrade-safe data model, workflows, scripts, security controls, and notifications. Ensures platform performance, maintainability, and compliance with architecture, security, and development standards while exposing data resources and actions required by the UI Builder Developer.

Key Responsibilities

Application Design & Data Model

• Design and develop scoped applications, including tables, fields, dictionaries, and table relationships for sourcing requests, procurement cases, and supplier records.
• Configure record producers, catalog items, variable sets, and intake forms for request submission and capture.
• Define numbering schemes, choice lists, reference qualifiers, and data validation rules.
• Ensure data integrity and adherence to ServiceNow best practices.

Process Automation & Workflow Development

• Build and maintain Flow Designer flows, subflows, and custom actions for sourcing, procurement, and supplier onboarding processes.
• Configure task orchestration, approval workflows, assignment rules, and lifecycle stage/state models.
• Implement event-driven automation and scheduled jobs to streamline business operations.
• Align workflow automation with approved business processes and governance standards.

Server-Side Development

• Develop and maintain Business Rules, Script Includes, and server-side scripts using GlideRecord and GlideAggregate APIs.
• Create reusable, well-documented, and upgrade-safe custom logic.
• Follow coding standards and ServiceNow development best practices.
• Optimize scripts, database queries, and automation for platform performance and scalability.

Access Control, Security & Notifications

• Configure roles, groups, and Access Control Lists (ACLs) to enforce role-based security.
• Implement data visibility, separation, and access controls based on business requirements.
• Configure email notifications, user notification preferences, SLA definitions, and escalation mechanisms.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and governance policies.

Data Resources & Integration Readiness

• Expose platform data through data resources and scripted APIs for UI Builder consumption.
• Design scalable integration-ready solutions using REST inbound/outbound frameworks.
• Apply integration-safe design patterns to support future ERP and procurement system integrations.
• Maintain clear API documentation and reusable integration components.

Reporting, Testing & Deployment

• Configure reports, dashboards, indicators, and data sources to support business reporting needs.
• Develop Automated Test Framework (ATF) test cases and perform unit/system testing.
• Participate in peer code reviews and defect resolution activities.
• Package and deploy solutions using Update Sets and Scoped Applications.
• Support release management, change governance, cutover activities, and production deployments.
• Produce technical documentation and conduct knowledge transfer sessions.

Required Skills & Experience

• Certified ServiceNow Administrator (CSA) certification required.
• Certified Application Developer (CAD) certification or equivalent ServiceNow application development experience.

• Experience designing and developing enterprise-grade ServiceNow solutions.
• Familiarity with Procurement and Source-to-Pay (S2P) processes is highly advantageous.
• Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and documentation skills.

Experience Level

• Senior-level ServiceNow Developer with 68+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience.
• Minimum certifications: CSA + CAD.
• Additional CIS (Certified Implementation Specialist) certification is preferred.
• Proven ability to independently deliver enterprise-scale, upgrade-safe ServiceNow solutions.
• Experience working with minimal supervision in complex enterprise environments.
• Individual Contributor role focused on development and platform delivery (not a Team Lead or Architect position).
