Renate is Looking for: SEO Intern

The Role As SEO Intern at Renate, you own organic search visibility from the ground up. This is not a "write some blog posts" seat. You will audit, fix, and own the entire SEO stack, technical, on-page, content, and off-page, and you will be the person who decides what ranks and what does not. You report directly to the founder and ship changes that go live the same week you make them.

Your Impact

• Audit and fix technical SEO end-to-end, including robots.txt, sitemaps, schema markup, Core Web Vitals, and crawlability
• Write and optimize meta titles, descriptions, and H1 tags across every page on the site
• Build city-specific and keyword-targeted landing pages aligned to hiring-intent searches
• Create long-tail content targeting recruiter and HR search behaviour across India and MENA
• Manage Google Search Console end-to-end and track indexing, ranking, and impression progress weekly
• Build backlinks through directory listings, partnership outreach, guest content, and cold email
• Ensure Renate surfaces in AI search results across ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews
• Track every change in a shared sheet reviewed with the founder, with clear before-and-after metrics
• Feed search-trend signals back to the product and content teams to sharpen positioning

What You Bring

• Working understanding of on-page SEO, technical SEO, and basic HTML
• Fluency with at least one keyword research tool (Ahrefs, SEMrush, Ubersuggest, or equivalent)
• Working knowledge of Google Search Console and how Google indexes and ranks pages
• Genuine curiosity about how AI search engines surface content, and willingness to experiment
• Strong written English, with the ability to write copy that ranks and reads well
• High ownership, high speed, and comfort with ambiguity
• Ability to track your own work and report results without being chased
• Mumbai-based or willing to relocate immediately

Nice to Have

• A personal site, blog, or project that has ranked for any keyword (proof beats theory)
• Exposure to programmatic SEO or building landing pages at scale
• Familiarity with WordPress, Webflow, Next.js, or the basics of how modern sites are built
• Prior internship, freelance, or side-project work with measurable SEO outcomes
