Key Responsibilities:

We are looking for a Senior SQL Engineer to join our fast-paced Carrier Reporting (CR) team. Under the guidance of the CR Tech Team Lead, this role will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and implementing fixes and enhancements, in support of complex outbound reporting. The Senior SQL Engineer will collaborate with the business team and other developers to produce solutions that meet the requirements of our carrier partners and regulatory bodies, and in general support high quality reporting for the company.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Complete research and problem-solving tasks with minimal supervision.
• Develop, modify, and debug complex SSIS packages with control and data flows.
• Prepare documentations and specifications which including file layouts and data mapping.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities to meet goals and deadlines.
• Interface and collaborate with other tech team members, business analysts and project managers to clarify requirements.
• Combine IT skills with business knowledge to develop, enhance, debug, and maintain complex stored procedures.
• Design and develop tables with appropriate constraints and indexes.
• Create/update stored procedures, functions, views, triggers and other SQL Server objects.
• Test own work and contribute to the development of test plans.
• Maintains awareness of information security requirements and scalability issues during design and development.
• Participate in technical design; develop from specifications under limited guidance.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Excellent understanding of SQL programming; 7+ years of experience T-SQL programming Stored procedures, views, functions, triggers.
• ETL design and development
• Development of high-quality database solutions
• Skilled at optimizing large, complicated SQL statements
• Capable of troubleshooting common database issues
• Familiar with tools that can aid with profiling server resource usage to optimize
• Review and interpret ongoing business needs
• Analyse existing SQL queries for performance improvements
• Strong organizational, detail-oriented skills
• Team player
• Good time-management skills
• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
• Healthcare or insurance industry related experience

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
• 7 to 10 years of experience as a SQL Developer or similar role
• 5 to 7 years of experience with SQL Server and SSQL Server data tools (SSIS, SSRS) or similar SQL and ETL tools
• Sense of ownership and pride in performance and impact on companys success
• Great interpersonal and communication skills
