Role Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Quantum Computing expert to lead research,
design, and implementation of quantum algorithms, hardware-software integration,
and scalable quantum systems. The role involves shaping next-generation quantum
technologies across areas such as quantum algorithms, error correction, quantum
machine learning, and hybrid quantum-classical systems.
This position is typically found in organizations like IBM (IBM Quantum), Google
(Google Quantum AI), Microsoft (Azure Quantum), and Rigetti Computing, as well as
national labs and advanced research institutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Quantum Algorithm Development
Design and optimize advanced quantum algorithms (e.g., Shors, Grovers,
variational algorithms)
Develop hybrid quantum-classical workflows
Explore quantum advantage in real-world applications (cryptography,
chemistry, optimization, finance)
2. Quantum Hardware & Architecture Collaboration
Work closely with hardware teams to improve qubit fidelity, coherence, and
scalability
Contribute to architecture design of quantum processors and control systems
Evaluate superconducting, trapped-ion, photonic, or neutral-atom platforms
3. Quantum Error Correction & Noise Mitigation
Develop error correction codes (surface codes, stabilizer codes)
Reduce decoherence and gate errors in NISQ devices
Improve fault-tolerant quantum computing architectures
4. Software & Framework Leadership
Build or extend quantum SDKs and frameworks (e.g., Qiskit, Cirq,
PennyLane)
Optimize quantum circuit compilation and transpilation
Lead development of simulation environments for quantum systems
5. Research & Innovation
Publish in top journals and conferences (Nature Quantum Information, QIP,
APS)
File patents in quantum technologies
Lead cutting-edge research projects and external collaborations
6. Team Leadership
Mentor PhD-level researchers and engineers
Lead cross-functional teams across physics, computer science, and
engineering
Define technical strategy for quantum roadmap
Required Qualifications
PhD or equivalent experience in Quantum Computing (academic_field),
Physics, Computer Science, or related discipline
10+ years of experience in quantum research or advanced quantum
engineering
Strong expertise in:
o Quantum mechanics and linear algebra
o Quantum circuit design and simulation
o Quantum error correction theory
Proven contributions to quantum computing research or industry systems
Experience with quantum frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane, etc.)
Preferred Skills
Experience with superconducting or trapped-ion qubit systems
Background in high-performance computing (HPC)
Knowledge of cryptography and post-quantum security
Machine learning applied to quantum systems
Strong publication and patent record
