  • Architect and define Electrical Power Systems (EPS) including:
  • Solar array interfaces
  • Battery Management Systems (BMS)
  • Protection and fault-tolerant circuits
  • Design motor drive electronics for spacecraft mechanisms and actuators

Simulation, Modelling & Optimization

  • Perform circuit simulation and modeling using tools such as LTSpice, PSpice, MATLAB/Simulink
  • Optimize designs for efficiency, power density, thermal performance, and mass constraints
  • Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Reliability (DFR) principles

Hardware Development & Validation

  • Lead schematic design, PCB layout review, and hardware bring-up/commissioning
  • Develop and execute test plans, validation procedures, and verification strategies
  • Conduct prototype validation testing, including:
  • Thermal vacuum testing
  • Vibration and shock testing
  • Burn-in and environmental stress screening

Reliability & Compliance

  • Perform FMECA (Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis)
  • Conduct worst-case analysis (WCA) and component derating analysis
  • Ensure compliance with EMI/EMC standards and space qualification requirements
  • Select radiation-tolerant / space-grade components for high-reliability applications

Systems Integration & Communication

  • Integrate with spacecraft subsystems using protocols such as:
  • SPI, I2C, CAN, RS422/RS485, LVDS, SpaceWire, MIL-STD-1553B
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across mechanical, thermal, and systems engineering

Leadership & Innovation

  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and design teams
  • Establish best practices in design documentation, validation, and testing workflows
  • Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies (GaN, advanced semiconductors, power architectures)
