Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced electrical professional to lead power sourcing and grid connectivity strategy for industrial use / data centre projects (50-100 MW scale). The role involves evaluating central and state transmission networks, engaging with utilities and regulators, and securing reliable, scalable power access.

Key Responsibilities

• Grid Assessment & Strategy
• Evaluate ISTS (CTU) and InSTS (State) grid infrastructure
• Assess substation capacity, congestion, and upcoming augmentation plans
• Identify optimal connection points and voltage levels

Power Sourcing Strategy

Assess and design optimal power sourcing mix, including:

• Thermal power
• Renewable energy (solar, wind)
• Hybrid / RTC power
• Captive / group captive structures
• Grid supply (open access / DISCOM)
• Backup systems (DG / gas gensets / BESS)

Evaluate trade-offs across:

• Reliability (24x7 supply)
• Cost (tariff, transmission, losses)
• Regulatory feasibility
• Scalability and redundancy

Develop phased power strategy aligned with load ramp-up

• Stakeholder Engagement
• Co-ordinate with:
• State Transcos / STUs
• Discoms
• CTU / POSOCO / RLDC / SLDC
• Regulatory bodies (CERC / SERC)
• Build relationships to enable faster approvals and insights into grid planning
• Connectivity & Approvals
• Lead applications for connectivity and GNA
• Manage end-to-end process:
• Documentation
• Regulatory compliance
• Coordination during studies / meetings (e.g., CMETS, JCC)
• Power Planning
• Work with internal teams and customers to:
• Understand load profiles (IT load, redundancy, ramp-up)
• Design power sourcing strategy (grid + RE + hybrid)
• Evaluate reliability, redundancy, and scalability of supply
• Regulatory & Policy Tracking
• Track developments in:
• CERC / SERC regulations
• Open access, GNA, and transmission policies
• Assess impact on project viability and timelines
• Project Support
• Support land and site selection from a power availability perspective
• Provide inputs on capex for grid connectivity and evacuation

Key Requirements

• Experience: 10-15 years in electrical / power sector
• Strong experience in at least one:
• Transmission planning / utility interface
• Large industrial / infrastructure power sourcing
• Renewable energy evacuation / grid connectivity
• Knowledge of:
• Indian power sector (CTU, STU, Discom structure)
• Connectivity & Open Access / GNA frameworks
• Transmission systems (220 kV / 400 kV / 765 kV)
• Skills:
• Strong stakeholder management (government / utilities)
• Ability to interpret grid data, plans, and regulatory frameworks
• Commercial awareness of power tariffs and transmission costs

Preferred Profile

• Experience with data centres / large industrial loads
• Exposure to renewable + hybrid power solutions (RTC / storage)
• Prior interaction with CERC / SERC / CTU processes
