Planys Technologies is a leading underwater inspection and survey company in India, specializing in robotic and data-driven solutions for complex submerged environments. We design and deploy indigenously developed ROVs and AUVs to deliver high-precision inspection, survey, and diagnostic services.

With a growing footprint across infrastructure, energy, and industrial sectors, we are expanding our survey and geophysics vertical to support subsea asset mapping and inland water surveys for leading PSU energy companies and EPC contractors.

Key Responsibilities

Survey Planning & Execution

• Plan and execute river crossing and inland surveys (SBP, SSS, Bathymetry SBES/MBES, DGPS)
• Operate and mobilize survey equipment in inland/nearshore environments
• Ensure compliance with client specifications and QA/QC protocols
• Maintain equipment and ensure safety standards during field operations

Data Processing & Interpretation

• Interpret sub-bottom profiler data (sediment layers, strata, buried objects)
• Analyze sonar imagery (bedforms, obstructions)
• Generate riverbed profiles, burial depth analysis, and crossing feasibility insights

Reporting & Client Interface

• Prepare and review survey and geophysical interpretation reports
• Act as a qualified signatory for client submissions
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, and EPC contractors

Compliance & Documentation

• Maintain documentation as per tender and industry standards (IHO S-44 where applicable)
• Ensure calibration, logs, and traceability of survey data

Additional Scope

• Execute or supervise SSS, MBES, and CIPL surveys
• Support integration with ROV-based inspection surveys
• Drive continuous improvement in survey processes

Skill Requirements

• Sub-Bottom Profiler (SBP) Survey & Interpretation (Signatory Level)
• Geophysical Reporting & Sign-off (Signatory Level)
• Bathymetry (SBES/MBES) & Side Scan Sonar (SSS) (Independent Level)
• DGPS & Positioning Systems
• Survey Planning & Line Design
• Hypack / Qinsy / SonarWiz or equivalent
• Sediment classification & stratigraphy
• River morphology and inland survey challenges
• Integrated interpretation (SBP + SSS + Bathy)
• Client interaction and technical defence
• Equipment handling and mobilization

Eligibility Criteria

• M.Sc / M.Tech in Geophysics / Applied Geophysics / Marine Geophysics
• (OR B.Tech in Geology with relevant experience)
• 38 years of experience
• Minimum 3+ years in river/inland/nearshore surveys
• Experience in SBP interpretation and bathymetric surveys
• Exposure to MBES surveys
• Knowledge of IHO standards
• Experience working with EPC contractors
• 1015 completed projects (details must be submitted with CV)
• Hands-on experience with SBP systems and DGPS
• Strong reporting and interpretation skills
