PURPOSE OF ROLE:

The Senior Engineering Manager - Decision Products Engineering, is a technical leader within EDMA responsible for Build and lead the Decision Products capability in India (analytics engineering, BI engineering, product analytics) by setting technical standards, developing talent, and allocating skilled practitioners to squads. The role is solid-line reporting local UAI Site Leader for day-to-day operations & dotted-line with USHQ Decision Products COE to deliver enterprise strategy, common patterns, and consistent measurement across the company.


YOUR IMPACT (Job Responsibilities):

  • Build a high-performing Decision Products talent bench: hiring bar, onboarding, skills matrix, coaching, and career paths.
  • Allocate capability resources to squads based on prioritized demand, skill fit, and development plans; manage rotations and continuity/backfill readiness.
  • Define and enforce decision-product engineering standards: semantic/metrics layer patterns, KPI definitions, dashboard performance, and release quality gates.
  • Create reusable accelerators (templates, reference models, testing packs) that improve squad throughput and reduce rework.
  • Establish and run a Decision Products Community of Practice (guild) to drive consistency, knowledge sharing, and engineering excellence.
  • Partner with squad leaders and USHQ COE to align on roadmap needs, adoption KPIs, and enterprise-wide metric governance.
  • Track and improve capability health: quality outcomes, productivity, adoption instrumentation, and incident reduction for decision layers.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree with typically 10 years of relevant experience or Master's degree with typically 8 years of relevant experience or typically 14 years of relevant experience without degree.
  • Typically, 3 - 5 years of people management experience or leading technical teams or capability groups, or equivalent experience as the subject matter lead or expert in analytics engineering / BI engineering / product analytics
  • Expert-level competency in dimensional modeling, semantic/metrics layer design, governed self-service BI, and performance tuning.
  • Strong quality mindset: automated testing, regression controls, data observability, and disciplined release management.
  • Proven ability to scale standards and reusable assets across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience operating in a product + platform model with matrixed (solid/dotted) leadership structures.


WORKPLACE LOCATION:

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our office.
  • Work Schedule: This role follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring 4 days in-office per week
