Job Description
We are looking for a Manager of Electrical Engineering to lead new product development of electrical hardware for energy storage, load controllers, and transfer switches. This role is responsible for designing and delivering power electronics hardware that integrates tightly with firmware, power subsystems, and mechanical assemblies.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the EE team responsible for power electronics hardware design, development, and validation for CES energy products
Own full product lifecycle execution: schematic design, layout guidance, board bring-up, lab validation, and design for test and manufacture
Architect and review designs covering analog signal conditioning, digital interfaces, MCUs, sensors, and communication buses (CAN, UART, RS-485, and others)
Partner closely with firmware, mechanical, test, and manufacturing teams to deliver highly integrated, production-ready designs
Drive builds across EVT, DVT, and PVT, managing technical risk and coordinating with contract manufacturers and test partners
Provide technical mentorship, lead design reviews, and actively develop team members
Support sustaining engineering and field issue resolution as products mature in the market.
Minimum Qualifications
BSEE or MSEE with 7+ years of experience in power electronics hardware development
Strong background in electronics design, embedded systems, and board-level hardware architecture
Hands-on lab experience with board bring-up, validation, debugging, and test automation tools
Familiarity with design constraints related to thermal management, EMC, safety, and manufacturability
Proven track record of cross-functional execution in new product development environments
Experience with design documentation and ECO control processes
Background with high-reliability products operating in demanding, long-warranty environments
Experience in PCB engineering including fabrication and assembly technologies, strain/stress analysis, thermal management, and connector/cable design.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with energy systems, IoT devices, or embedded hardware in regulated environments
Exposure to compliance testing (UL/IEC/EMC) and design transfer to contract manufacturing
Experience shipping products at scale 1M+ units
Knowledge of low-power design, sensor integration, or signal integrity optimization
Prior experience building or scaling hardware development teams
Embedded firmware development experience
Understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals boundary/force diagrams, stress/strain, 1D thermodynamics, and common manufacturing techniques (CNC, injection molding, laser cutting, 3D printing)
