Location - Offshore | Remote / Hybrid

Preferred Experience

68 years of experience in Data Engineering within enterprise or client-facing environments. Experience in Pharma/Healthcare is preferred but not mandatory.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to act as the technical owner of a data-intensive application within a client-facing DataOps engagement. This role is responsible for ensuring the applications stability, accuracy, scalability, and continuous improvement while working closely with stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end delivery and performance of the assigned data application, ensuring stability, accuracy, and scalability
• Analyze application workflows to assess impact of changes across data pipelines and systems
• Identify risks, gaps, and optimization opportunities, drive resolutions independently
• Perform root cause analysis on data quality issues, anomalies, and processing failures
• Differentiate between data, logic, and configuration issues and implement preventive fixes
• Design and maintain documentation including architecture, data flow, and business rules
• Develop and execute test strategies (functional, performance, UAT)
• Collaborate with stakeholders and present technical insights to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Monitor application performance and implement proactive alerting and reliability measures
• Support release cycles, code reviews, and deployment activities
• Drive continuous improvement through structured problem-solving and documentation

Technical Skills

• Strong Python expertise (data transformation, APIs, orchestration, automation)
• Advanced SQL skills (complex joins, aggregations, reconciliation, diagnostics)
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS (Azure/GCP also acceptable)
• Hands-on experience with REST API integrations and third-party data sources
• Solid understanding of data modeling, pipeline architecture, and performance optimization
• Experience in building and maintaining scalable data pipelines

Non-technical Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• High ownership and accountability for deliverables
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and integrity

Preferred Skills

• Experience in Pharma, Healthcare, or regulated data environments
• Hands-on experience with PySpark or distributed data processing frameworks
• Familiarity with MDM, entity resolution, or data classification systems
• Experience with Informatica (IDMC) or similar ETL platforms
• Exposure to vendor/library migrations in production environments
• Prior consulting or multi-client delivery experience

Required Qualification

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Relevant certifications in Cloud/Data Engineering (preferred)
