Senior Data Engineer

THIS IS A LONG TERM CONTRACT POSITION WITH ONE OF THE LARGEST GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY LEADERS.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join a high-impact Marketing Data Engineering team focused on building scalable cloud-based data platforms and pipelines. The role involves designing and optimizing end-to-end data architecture, enabling analytics, and supporting cross-functional teams including Data Scientists, Analysts, and Software Engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipeline architecture.
• Develop robust ETL/ELT workflows using dbt, SQL, Python, Spark, and AWS technologies.
• Optimize data infrastructure, automate manual processes, and improve scalability/performance.
• Build analytics-ready datasets and data models for reporting and business insights.
• Work closely with stakeholders to resolve data-related technical challenges.
• Support metadata management, workload orchestration, and data transformation processes.
• Collaborate with globally distributed Agile teams to enhance data platform capabilities.
• Explore and implement modern cloud data engineering solutions across AWS/Azure ecosystems.

Required Skills & Experience

• 710 years overall experience with 5+ years in Data Engineering.
• Strong hands-on expertise in: dbt (including macros & Jinja templating), SQL, Python, Spark / PySpark, Snowflake
• Experience with AWS services such as:
• S3, EC2, Glue, Lambda, RDS, Redshift
• Experience working with APIs and large-scale distributed datasets.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing, optimization, and scalable pipeline design.

• Power BI
• Agile/SCRUM exposure
• Experience handling unstructured datasets and distributed data systems
