Purpose of the Job
The Senior Business Finance Manager will lead the business finance function for a business division, acting as a strategic finance partner to divisional leadership. This role is responsible for driving financial performance, supporting data-driven decision-making, and enabling sustainable, profitable growth. The ideal candidate brings strong business finance partnering experience, deep Financial Analysis expertise, and proven exposure to R2R processes in SAP, ideally within the medical equipment or vision care industry.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Business Finance Partnership:
- Serve as the primary finance business partner to the Divisional Head and leadership team.
- Translate business strategy into financial plans, targets, and KPIs for the division.
- Provide actionable insights on pricing, product mix, margins, and commercial investments to optimize profitability.
- Support evaluation of new business opportunities (e.g., new products, markets, channels, partnerships) through business cases, scenario analysis, and sensitivity analysis.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, supply chain, operations, and commercial excellence teams to align financial strategies with business objectives.
- Develop and maintain advanced financial models, dashboards, and scorecards for product lines, channels, and key customers within the business division.
- Act as a finance challenger to ensure sound business decisions, risk mitigation, and disciplined capital allocation.
Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Lead the end-to-end financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting cycle for the business division (annual budget, latest estimates, long-range plans).
- Consolidate and analyze divisional financial performance (revenue, margins, OPEX, CAPEX, working capital) to identify trends and improvement areas.
- Prepare and present monthly and quarterly performance reviews to senior management, highlighting key drivers, risks, and opportunities.
- Develop and enhance financial tools, templates, and reporting frameworks to improve accuracy, timeliness, and business relevance.
- Drive standardization and automation of planning and analysis in collaboration with corporate technology and controlling teams.
Operational Excellence:
- Ensure robust financial controls, policies, and procedures are in place and adhered to within the business division.
- Work closely with shared services, controllership, and R2R teams to ensure accurate and timely period closing, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Monitor and manage divisional cost structures, including productivity initiatives, cost optimization, and structural cost reviews.
- Identify and implement process improvements across planning, reporting, and decision-support processes, leveraging SAP and other financial systems.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, internal guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Leadership & Collaboration:
- Lead, mentor, and develop junior finance team members supporting the business division, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
- Build strong relationships with functional and regional stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor on financial and commercial topics.
- Represent the business division finance function in cross-functional and cross-regional forums, projects, and steering committees.
- Drive a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement within the finance team and broader organization
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA (Finance) from a premier BSchool mandatory.
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field (preferred).
- Additional certifications (e.g., CFA, IFRS) are an advantage.
Work Experience:
- Minimum 9+ years of experience in business finance, financial planning, and analysis roles.
- Proven experience in finance business partnering with commercial and operational teams, ideally at business unit or divisional level
- Strong exposure to R2R processes and hands-on experience in SAP-based financial environments.
- Prior experience in the medical equipment or vision care industry is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work in high-demand, fast-paced environments while managing competing priorities.

- Advanced proficiency in financial tools and systems (e.g., Excel, ERP).
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
