Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Senior BI Engineer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of our enterprise data platform. You will be the bridge between raw data and actionable business insights, ensuring our ETL pipelines are robust, our data models are scalable, and our reporting is world-class.

Key Responsibilities

• Database Development & Optimization: Lead the design of complex SQL Server objects (stored procedures, UDFs, triggers). You will be the go-to expert for performance tuning and query optimization.
• ETL Architecture (SSIS & Python): Architect and deploy end-to-end ETL/ELT pipelines. While SSIS is our core, you will use Python to extend capabilities, such as interacting with REST APIs or performing complex data manipulations that traditional tools can't handle.
• Data Modeling: Design and implement scalable Star and Snowflake schemas. You will ensure the Data Warehouse is optimized for OLAP cubes and high-performance reporting.
• Reporting & Analytics (SSRS): Deliver sophisticated, high-impact reports including drill-through and matrix formats. You will manage the full lifecycle of report subscriptions and automated distribution.
• System Integrity & Mentorship: Monitor SQL Agent jobs, troubleshoot critical failures, and provide technical leadership/code reviews for junior team members.

Key Tech Stack & Skills

Required:

• 5+ years of experience in BI development within the Microsoft SQL Server ecosystem.
• Expert-level T-SQL: Deep knowledge of CTEs, window functions, and execution plans.
• Data Warehousing Mastery: Solid understanding of Kimball/Inmon methodologies.
• Python Proficiency: Experience using Python (Pandas, NumPy, SQLAlchemy) for data engineering tasks.
• SSIS/SSRS: Proven track record of deploying enterprise-level packages and reports.

Preferred:

• Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, or Snowflake).
• Exposure to Power BI or Tableau for modern visualization.
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices for SQL Server (e.g., SSDT, Azure DevOps).

Required Education & Experience

• Education: Bachelors degree in a field such as Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience
