About the Role

Were a Spain based early stage startup in fintech domain building scalable and reliable systems from the ground up. Were looking for a Senior Backend Developer who can take ownership of backend services, ship fast, and write clean, production-ready code.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving real-world problems, working in a lean team, and building systems that scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust backend systems using Node.js(TypeScript) and NestJS
• Build scalable REST APIs and services with clean architecture
• Work closely with product and frontend teams to deliver features end-to-end
• Design, implement, and optimize database schemas using MySQL
• Use TypeORM for efficient data access and migrations
• Ensure performance, reliability, and security of backend services
• Set up logging, monitoring, and debugging using ELK stack / Grafana
• Identify bottlenecks and improve system performance
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices

Must-Have Skills

• 3+ years of backend development experience
• Strong proficiency in Node.js
• Solid hands-on experience with NestJS
• Experience with TypeORM or similar ORM
• Strong knowledge of MySQL (queries, indexing, performance tuning)
• Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized deployments
• Experience with logging/monitoring tools (ELK Stack or Grafana)
• Good understanding of REST APIs and backend architecture
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows
• Experience with caching (Redis) and queues (SQS/Kafka/RabbitMQ)

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience working in a startup environment
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions)
• Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms
• Understanding of microservices architecture
