ABOUT DISPATCH NETWORK

Dispatch Network is building Last Mile 2.0 redefining how urban logistics operates in India. We're designing the new infrastructure for how goods move: faster, smarter, and more sustainable.

Our systems power the real-time movement of thousands of riders across cities connecting orders, people, and places with near-zero latency. We're now moving from proven pilots to national scale, and the backend that carries that traffic has to stay correct and available every minute of the day.

As an SDE III (Backend), you'll own and scale the distributed systems that make this possible. You'll design highly concurrent services, real-time event pipelines, and the orchestration logic that keeps a live fleet moving and you'll set the reliability bar as we grow.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Core systems development

• Design and build backend services (primarily in Go, with some Python) for order orchestration, rider routing, pricing, and real-time tracking.
• Architect WebSocket-based communication layers that handle thousands of concurrent app connections per cluster.
• Build and optimize asynchronous, event-driven pipelines for telemetry, notifications, and delivery workflows.
• Design clean REST/gRPC APIs and contribute to our orchestration and decision engine.

System design & scalability

• Own features end-to-end from architecture through production deployment and operation.
• Build fault-tolerant systems that hold up under high concurrency, partial failure, and network volatility.
• Get correctness right on a money- and SLA-sensitive path: idempotency, retries, transactional outbox/saga, graceful degradation.
• Optimize Redis for caching, Pub/Sub, and geo-queries; design and tune Postgres schemas, indexes, and connection pooling.

Infrastructure & delivery

• Strengthen CI/CD, observability, and performance across our microservices alarms and traces that surface the real symptom, and deploys that are safe and reversible.
• Partner with DevOps on AWS (ECS/Fargate, RDS, Redis, Kafka, Terraform).
• Drive code reviews and uphold engineering quality and standards.

Collaboration & leadership

• Work closely with product, AI, and mobility teams to ship data-informed features.
• Mentor SDE1/SDE2 engineers; review for reliability and maintainability.
• Contribute to internal engineering practices, documentation, and standards.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 58 years of backend development, with strong systems fundamentals and at least 2+ years in Go (or deep experience in another typed/compiled language plus the ability to ramp on Go fast).
• Strong grasp of concurrency, synchronization, and async I/O.
• Experience with WebSocket servers, Kafka, Redis, and event-driven architectures.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, service-to-service communication, and API versioning.
• Postgres depth schema design, indexing, migrations, and query debugging under load.
• Comfortable in containerized environments (Docker, AWS ECS/Fargate) and with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Strong debugging, performance profiling, and observability skills you find root causes, not workarounds, and you verify behaviour rather than trusting a green build.

Bonus

• Experience with OSRM, tile38, Redis Geo, or other last-mile / logistics systems.
• Real-time, high-concurrency systems at scale; mobility, quick-commerce, or payments domains.
• Contributions to open-source or production-grade Go frameworks.
