Location: 100% Remote

Duration: 12 Months Contract

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced SAP Archiving Architect to lead end-to-end data archiving initiatives in preparation for SAP S/4HANA conversion. The role involves designing the archiving blueprint through to final execution, ensuring optimal database performance and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Define and implement the SAP data archiving strategy from blueprint to execution

Design and develop custom archiving objects, variants, and programs

Analyze ECC data landscape and identify archiving opportunities ahead of S/4HANA

conversion

Drive database optimization and data volume reduction initiatives

Leverage SAP Data Volume Management (DVM) techniques for large table handling

Identify and archive high-volume tables efficiently

Configure and manage standard and custom SAP archiving objects

Execute and monitor archiving jobs ensuring performance, integrity, and compliance

Collaborate with functional and technical teams to align archiving with business requirements

Ensure audit readiness and adherence to data retention policies

Required Skills & Experience:

8+ years of SAP experience with strong focus on Data Archiving and DVM

Proven experience handling large tables using SAP Data Volume Management techniques

Hands-on experience with SAP ECC archiving and S/4HANA migration programs

Expertise in creating custom archiving objects, variants, and write/delete programs

Strong knowledge of SAP ILM and data retention policies

Experience in database size optimization and performance tuning

Familiarity with SAP archiving tools (e.g., SARA)

Ability to independently drive end-to-end archiving execution

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in large-scale ECC to S/4HANA transformation programs

Knowledge of compliance and data privacy regulations

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills in remote setups
