Logaritm is launching a data automation initiative, and we are looking for a sharp Data Engineer / Python Developer to help build an automated data extraction and fusion pipeline.

Location: 100% Remote/In-person

Duration: Milestone-based contract, initial scope around 3 months

Focus: Engineering document parsing, data fusion, and schema export for downstream software

The Challenge

Industrial asset data is often scattered across legacy PFDs, P&IDs, equipment datasheets, inspection reports, and historical thickness measurement records.

The goal is to build an intelligent automation engine that can extract, validate, cross-check, and structure this information into a clean CSV import file matching the target asset management schema.

Key Responsibilities

Build Python workflows to query Vision / Multimodal AI APIs such as Gemini, GPT-4o, or similar tools for engineering text and table extraction

Convert extracted data into strict JSON structures and validated tabular formats

Use pandas to merge multiple data streams using Asset Tag IDs as primary keys

Implement validation rules to detect inconsistencies, missing fields, and physical anomalies, such as operating conditions exceeding design limits

Map verified records to proprietary vendor headers and export high-quality CSV files ready for import

Required Skills

Strong Python development experience

Deep hands-on knowledge of pandas, openpyxl, JSON handling, and CSV generation

Proven experience extracting structured data from complex PDFs, scans, tables, or engineering documents

Familiarity with tools such as LlamaParse, AWS Textract, OCR pipelines, or custom vision endpoints

Strong QA mindset with attention to validation, exception handling, and anomaly logging

Bonus Experience

Experience with mechanical equipment, piping systems, inspection data, asset registers, or industrial plant documentation is a strong plus.
