About the Role


The Quality Engineer in the semiconductor industry is responsible for ensuring that all quality activities related to semiconductor products and processes meet the highest quality standards.


Responsibilities

Quality Management System (QMS):

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a robust quality management system within the organization, tailored to the semiconductor industry.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure adherence to quality standards and identify areas for improvement.


Quality Assurance - Post Silicon:

  • Oversee the quality of Post Silicon processes, including design control, process development, and validation activities.
  • Ensure that all Functional documentation, including design specifications, process flow diagrams, and technical reports, are accurate, complete, and compliant with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with teams to establish quality metrics and monitor performance against these metrics.


Regulatory Compliance:

  • Stay current with regulatory changes and ensure that R&D activities are aligned with the latest regulations and guidelines.
  • Support regulatory submissions by providing quality-related documentation and ensuring that all requirements are met.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies during inspections and audits related to R&D activities.


Risk Management:

  • Implement and maintain a risk management framework within the organization.
  • Conduct risk assessments for new and existing semiconductor products, processes, and technologies.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize potential quality issues.


Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality and efficiency of processes.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for quality-related issues.
  • Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the teams.


Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with product development, process engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure that quality is integrated throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Provide quality-related training and support to staff and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams to ensure that quality considerations are addressed during product development.


Supplier Quality:

  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure that materials and components meet quality standards.
  • Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
  • Address any quality issues related to suppliers and work with them to implement corrective actions.


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., masters or PhD) is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in quality management within an R&D and Manufacturing environment, preferably in the semiconductor industry.
  • Experience with Automotive and Industrial product qualification standards, such as AEC-Q100 and JEDEC.
  • Certifications: Certification in quality management (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Manager, Six Sigma Black Belt) is highly desirable.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and regulatory requirements related to semiconductor R&D.

  • Proven ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in quality management software and tools.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.


Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Automotive and Industrial product qualification standards, such as AEC-Q100 and JEDEC.
