In this role, youll help ensure the accuracy, reliability, and stability of REST API and Kafka based integrations that connect store systems with enterprise platforms such as MFCS, OMS, and other ERP applications.
Youll work closely with Senior QEs, backend engineers, and product partners to execute test scenarios, validate data flows, and support integration testing across multiple systems. This role is ideal for someone early in their QE career who wants hand exposure to backend services, event driven architectures, and real-world enterprise integrations.
Youll start with guided execution and analysis, while steadily building the skills needed to contribute to automation, troubleshooting, and engineering led quality practices.
What Youll Do:
Support Quality Across Store Integrations:
- Execute test cases for REST API and Kafka based integrations.
- Validate data flowing between store systems and ERP platforms such as MFCS and OMS.
- Ensure responses, payloads, and messages meet defined acceptance criteria.
Assist with Integration & End to End Testing:
- Support end to end testing of store to enterprise workflows (e.g., inventory, orders, financial events).
- Validate synchronous API calls and asynchronous event flows.
- Verify data consistency across upstream and downstream systems.
Defect Identification & Analysis:
- Log clear, well documented defects with steps, payloads, and supporting evidence.
- Assist Senior QEs in triaging issues and understanding root causes.
- Retest fixes and validate resolution across impacted systems.
Learn API & Messaging Testing Fundamentals:
- Use tools like Postman or similar to execute and validate REST APIs.
- Support Kafka testing by validating produced and consumed events.
- Learn basic concepts such as schemas, message ordering, retries, and error handling.
Support Regression & Release Readiness:
- Execute regression test scenarios for existing integrations.
- Help ensure critical integration paths remain stable across releases.
- Support release signs off by providing execution status and test results.
Build Observability & Production Awareness:
- Use logs and monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk) to validate test outcomes.
- Assist in analyzing production issues to understand gaps in test coverage.
- Learn how production insights feed back into better test scenarios.
Grow Toward Engineering Led Quality:
- Learn automation basics and assist with maintaining automated test suites.
- Follow QE standards, frameworks, and best practices established by the team.
- Actively seek feedback and mentoring from Senior QEs.
What You Bring:
Required Qualifications:
- 34 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Software Testing.
- Basic understanding of REST APIs and HTTP concepts.
- Exposure to backend or integration testing (academic, internship, or professional).
- Familiarity with defect tracking tools like JIRA.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
- Willingness to learn integration, messaging, and automation concepts.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of Kafka or other messaging systems.
- Exposure to tools like Postman, Swagger, or similar API testing tools.
- Retail, supply chain, or ERP domain exposure.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Basic programming or scripting knowledge (Java preferred, not required).
Why Youll Love Working Here:
- Youll gain hands on experience with real enterprise integrations.
- Youll learn how store systems connect to large ERP platforms.
- Youll be mentored by experienced Quality Engineers.
- Youll build a strong foundation in backend and integration testing.
- Youll grow toward an engineering led Quality Engineering career.
