Hiring: Production Manager (Garment Industry Specialist)

Role Objective

The Production Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end oversight of the manufacturing process, ensuring that daily production targets are met with maximum efficiency and minimum waste. This is a critical leadership role requiring a blend of technical expertise in textile technology and strong shop-floor management skills.

Detailed Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Machine Optimization

• Daily Targets: Execute machine operations to bridge the gap between planned vs. achieved production targets on a daily basis.
• Micro-Planning: Conduct granular micro-planning of machine schedules to maximize uptime and output.
• Workflow Management: Adhere strictly to the production program and priorities set by the Production Head.

2. Quality Control & Technical Inspection

• Defect Reduction: Maintain a strict rejection and rework ratio of below 2%.
• QC Coordination: Partner with the Quality Control team to ensure sample checking is completed within section-wise timelines.
• Calibration & Compliance: Ensure only calibrated instruments are used for inspections and prepare detailed reports for senior management regarding quality issues.
• Risk Management: Participate in the preparation of Q-risk assessments and handle counterfeit part verification.

3. Material & Inventory Management

• Zero-Loss Handling: Oversee material handling processes to ensure zero loss or damage.
• Store Coordination: Manage timely receipt of raw materials by generating issue slips and coordinating with the store to prevent any production stoppages.
• Traceability: Carry out rigorous material identification and traceability protocols.

4. Shop-Floor Leadership & Administration

• Team Supervision: Directly manage and mentor a team of checkers and operators.
• Documentation: Maintain and update logbooks and individual operator job cards daily.
• Maintenance Liaison: Immediately inform the maintenance team of any machine breakdowns to minimize downtime.

Required Candidate Profile

• Education: B. Tech in Textile Technology / Garment technology or an equivalent technical degree.
• Experience: 810 years of progressive experience in production management.
• Industry Expertise: Must be a specialist in the Garment Industry.
• Technical Knowledge: Proficient in nonconformity handling, IPQC (In-Process Quality Control), and production documentation.
