Job Description

About Eighty Days

Eighty Days is building a new way to discover the world centred on taste, trust, and personal context.

Today, travel discovery is fragmented across social media, search, and private conversations. We are creating a product that brings this together into a structured, map-based experience where recommendations are attributed, meaningful, and built over time.

Our focus is not just on helping people plan trips, but on becoming the place where they continuously save, organise, and revisit places that matter.

The Role

We are looking for a Product Manager to lead Retention and User behaviour.

This role sits at the core of the product. You will be responsible for understanding what drives users to return, contribute, and build long-term value within the platform.

The challenge is unique: travel is inherently episodic, but we are building for continuous engagement. Your role is to help us design and scale the behaviours that make the product part of a users everyday life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own retention metrics across the product, including weekly and monthly active users, user contribution rates, and cohort retention and engagement trends
  • Identify and build core product loops
  • Partner closely with design and engineering to reduce friction in key user actions, improve activation, and deepen engagement across user journeys
  • Develop and optimise re-engagement systems including notifications, contextual prompts, and lifecycle flows
  • Run structured experiments to improve activation, retention, and contribution quality
  • Analyse user behaviour to uncover drop-off points, high-value cohorts, and patterns that drive long-term engagement

Requirements

  • 36 years of product management experience in consumer technology, marketplaces, or social/discovery platforms
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in cohort analysis, retention frameworks (D1, D7, D30, WAU/MAU), and experimentation with A/B testing
  • Demonstrated experience building habit-forming products, user-generated content systems, and engagement or retention-focused features
  • Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams
  • High attention to detail and strong product intuition
  • Able to apply AI workflows using Claude or other AI tools
  • Good to have worked in Travel domain

What We Value

  • A deep curiosity about user behaviour
  • An ability to balance data with judgment
  • Clear thinking and strong ownership
  • An appreciation for taste, design, and curation

Why This Role Matters

Retention is fundamental to what we are building.

Eighty Days becomes a product users return to regularly not just when they travel, but as part of how they discover and remember the world.
