Job Description

Product Manager Josh Talks AI (B2B)

Website: ai.joshtalks.com and voicearena.com

Location: Gurugram, with regular travel to the US

Reports to: Shobhit Banga, CEO & Co-Founder

Experience: 35 years shipping technical products as a PM, founding engineer, or in another close-to-the-build role at a serious technical company

About us

Josh Talks AI builds and licenses audio datasets to leading AI labs. Weve been deliberately quiet for the last year and just built. The product has earned the right to be expanded; we are now hiring the people who will own what gets built next.

What this role is

You will own real product surface at Josh Talks AI from day one. What ships, what doesnt, what gets killed, and what gets built next.

This is not a roadmap-coordination role. The product exists. The customers exist. The work is to close the gap between what we have shipped and what our customers need next in a category where the buyers are small in number, technical, and unforgiving about quality.

You will work directly with the CEO. You will be expected to have opinions, defend them with evidence, and act on them quickly.

What you will own

1. The customer

A short, named list of customers globally who use our datasets and benchmarks. You will know each of them by name, what theyre training, where theyre stuck, and what they would buy from us next. You will be on calls with them, in their evaluation loops, and in their feedback threads. Your performance will be measured on whether the right people in this list are telling us what to build and on whether we shipped it.

2. The roadmap and the evidence behind it

You will own meaningful slices of what we ship. You will decide what gets built, what gets cut, and what evidence justifies each call. Every PRD you write will start from a real customer problem and end with a measurable definition of done. No theatre, no bloat.

3. The shipping cadence

A weekly cadence of meaningful product changes, shipped. You set the bar for what shipped means here not merged, not staged, but in the hands of customers and producing signal. You will be in the loop on every release in your area and personally accountable for its quality.

4. Product surface, taxonomy, and documentation

Our product line is currently under-articulated. You will fix the names, the structure, the architecture, and how a technical buyer navigates our public surface and gets to the right thing in under 90 seconds. Documentation is part of the product; you will own it like it is.

5. Customer research and ground truth

Our customers are AI labs and their researchers. They do not behave like standard B2B SaaS buyers. You will design how we learn from them direct conversations, usage telemetry, dataset feedback, eval signal and resist the default product-management playbook where it doesnt apply.

6. Working with engineering, operations and research

We have separate engineering and data functions. You will write the specs they execute against, partner with them on tradeoffs, and own the outcome of what gets shipped. You dont do their work, but you are accountable for the result of it.

Who were looking for

35 years shipping technical products. Background as a PM at a technical company, a founding engineer who did product work, or a technical operator at an early-stage startup all count. Voice AI, ML infrastructure, dev tools, data infrastructure, or research-adjacent backgrounds fit naturally.

You ship. We will ask to see things you have built, and we will ask the engineers who worked with you what it was like.

You have done the unglamorous work of getting close to technical users not just internal stakeholders, not just product managers at other companies.

You can take a founders one-line spec and turn it into something a team can actually build, without diluting the original intent.

You think about customer problems and act in shipping cadence. Both are non-negotiable.

You bring opinions, defend them with evidence, and change your mind when the evidence changes. You have shipped real products before, and you have scars to show for it.

What this role is not

Not a roadmap-coordination role. We dont need a project manager with a product title.

Not a process role. We are not optimising a Jira board or running a SAFe ceremony.

Not a behind-the-scenes role. The work you ship and the customers you talk to will be visible across the company.

How to apply

Please send an email to ai_eng@joshtalks.com with the subject Product Manager at Josh with 3 bullet points demonstrating evidence of exceptional product ability. If youve shipped a complex technical product that real users found useful, thats a major plus.

Shobhit will personally review all emails that pass reasonable sanity checks.
