Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Java Architect with Generative AI expertise to join as an Individual Contributor (IC). This role focuses on designing and building scalable, enterprise-grade Java platforms integrated with AI and Generative AI capabilities.

The candidate will act as a technical advisor to leadership, driving architecture decisions, solving complex engineering challenges, and enabling AI-powered transformation across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Architecture & Strategy

• Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on architecture, engineering strategy, and technology decisions
• Design and evolve enterprise-scale Java-based architectures integrated with Generative AI solutions
• Translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure, and future-ready technical solutions
• Define long-term architecture roadmaps, standards, and best practices

Hands-On Engineering Leadership (IC Role)

• Remain hands-on in design, development, and code reviews
• Build and optimize Java-based microservices and distributed systems
• Drive engineering excellence in performance, scalability, security, and reliability
• Lead the resolution of complex technical challenges across systems

Generative AI & Innovation

• Architect and implement AI-powered solutions including LLM integrations, prompt engineering, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), and AI pipelines
• Drive adoption of Generative AI use cases across business functions
• Ensure responsible AI practices, governance, and scalability
• Evaluate build vs buy strategies for AI tools and platforms

Cloud & Platform Engineering

• Design and operate cloud-native architectures (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Work with containerization, orchestration (Kubernetes), CI/CD, and DevSecOps practices
• Ensure systems are resilient, scalable, and production-ready at enterprise scale

Stakeholder Collaboration & Influence

• Collaborate with Product, Data, Security, and Engineering teams to deliver AI-led solutions
• Influence architecture decisions across global and matrixed teams
• Mentor senior engineers and promote engineering best practices
• Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to leadership and stakeholders

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering with strong Java architecture expertise
• Proven experience in designing and building scalable Java-based systems (microservices and distributed architectures)
• Hands-on experience with Generative AI, LLMs, and AI/ML integration
• Strong expertise in prompt engineering, RAG architectures, LangChain (or similar frameworks), and AI orchestration
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern DevOps practices
• Strong understanding of system design, security, and performance engineering
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Good to Have

• Experience in financial services, fintech, or other regulated industries
• Exposure to MLOps and AI governance frameworks
• Active participation in technology communities or industry forums
• Experience evaluating emerging Generative AI tools and ecosystems
