We are looking for a highly experienced and strategic Principal Architect to lead cloud transformation engagements across enterprise customers. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Cloud Managed Services, Cloud Migration & Modernization, FinOps, Observability, and Cloud Governance across hyperscalers such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.

This role requires a blend of technical leadership, customer engagement, architecture governance, pre-sales solutioning, and practice development. The candidate will work closely with enterprise customers, delivery teams, cloud engineers, and business stakeholders to design scalable, secure, resilient, and cost-optimized cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Architecture & Advisory

• Define enterprise-scale cloud architecture strategies and transformation roadmaps.
• Lead architecture reviews, cloud assessments, modernization initiatives, and governance frameworks.
• Design secure, scalable, highly available, and cost-efficient cloud-native solutions.
• Establish architecture standards, best practices, reusable patterns, and reference architectures.

Cloud Managed Services

• Drive architecture and operational excellence for Cloud Managed Services engagements.
• Define operational models including monitoring, incident management, automation, backup, DR, patching, and security operations.
• Collaborate with SRE, operations, and platform engineering teams to improve reliability and service maturity.
• Implement proactive operational governance using automation and observability practices.

Migration & Modernization

• Lead large-scale migration and modernization programs including:
• Rehost
• Replatform
• Refactor
• Containerization
• Kubernetes adoption
• Serverless modernization
• Define migration factories, landing zones, and cloud adoption frameworks.
• Guide customers on application modernization strategies and cloud-native transformation.

FinOps & Cost Optimization

• Drive cloud financial governance and FinOps initiatives.
• Design cost optimization frameworks for compute, storage, networking, databases, and licensing.
• Provide recommendations around Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, Rightsizing, and utilization optimization.
• Work with business stakeholders to establish cloud cost visibility, budgeting, forecasting, and chargeback/showback models.

Observability & Reliability Engineering

• Define observability architecture covering logs, metrics, traces, APM, and dashboards.
• Lead implementation strategies using tools such as New Relic, Datadog, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, etc.
• Drive SRE best practices including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and operational KPIs.
• Improve application and infrastructure visibility for performance and reliability.

Customer Engagement & Leadership

• Act as a trusted advisor for CXOs, enterprise architects, and customer stakeholders.
• Lead technical workshops, architecture discussions, and executive presentations.
• Support pre-sales activities including solutioning, estimations, proposals, RFPs, and technical due diligence.
• Mentor architects and engineering teams across cloud practices.

Governance, Security & Compliance

• Ensure alignment with cloud security and compliance standards.
• Drive Well-Architected Reviews, governance frameworks, IAM strategies, and operational compliance.
• Collaborate with security teams for CSPM, DevSecOps, and cloud security posture initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

• Strong expertise in AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms.
• Experience with cloud-native technologies including Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.

Deep understanding of:

• Experience with enterprise monitoring and observability platforms.

Preferred Certifications

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional
• AWS DevOps Engineer / Security Specialty
• Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• Kubernetes Certifications (CKA/CKAD)
• FinOps Certified Practitioner
• ITIL / SRE Certifications (preferred)

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in Cloud Consulting, Managed Services, or Global System Integrators (GSI).
• Exposure to multi-cloud and hybrid cloud environments.
• Experience with regulated industries such as BFSI, Healthcare, Retail, Manufacturing, or Telecom is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise modernization and transformation programs.
