Platform Engineer

Summary:

We are seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer who designs systems that produce consistent, reliable outcomes, not just executes tasks. This role focuses on building repeatable, scalable cloud patterns and processes that reduce operational overhead, enforce consistency, and enable teams to move faster with confidence. The ideal candidate thinks in systems, is deeply curious, and is driven to understand the why behind the work.

What Youll Do:

• Design and implement repeatable infrastructure and workflows using Infrastructure as Code
• Build systems and guardrails that ensure consistency, security, and reliability by default
• Continuously improve existing (brownfield) environments through iterative, pragmatic enhancements
• Apply FinOps principles in architecture and engineering decisions to balance cost, performance, and scale
• Evaluate tradeoffs thoughtfully, understanding when to optimize vs. when to prioritize business velocity or accept risk
• Automate repetitive tasks and standardize processes to reduce manual effort and variability
• Contribute to architecture patterns, best practices, and platform capabilities across the organization
• Document systems, decisions, and workflows clearly to support long-term maintainability
• Collaborate with stakeholders and communicate decisions in a way that builds trust and confidence
• Mindset & Approach Systems thinker who prioritizes process over tools
• Focused on repeatability, consistency, and scalable outcomes

Technical Foundations:

• Strong experience with AWS and core cloud architecture concepts
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
• Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Bash)
• Familiarity with security best practices and the AWS
• Well-Architected
• Framework Understanding of modern cloud patterns (e.g., APIs, event-driven systems, CI/CD)
• Engineering Discipline
• Strong documentation habits and version control discipline
• Emphasis on best practices, security, scalability, and user experience over quick fixes
• Ability to improve and standardize less mature environments.
