Placement Director

Position Overview

The Director Training & Placements will be responsible for developing and executing the university's overall employability, industry engagement, internship, and placement strategy. The role requires building strong relationships with recruiters, industry leaders, corporate partners, government organizations, and alumni networks to maximize internship and placement opportunities for students.

The Director will lead the Training & Placement Cell and ensure students are industry-ready through structured training programs, career development initiatives, skill enhancement activities, and employer engagement strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Placement Strategy & Execution

• Develop and implement annual placement plans and targets for all schools and departments.
• Lead campus recruitment drives, placement seasons, and internship programs.
• Establish placement goals and monitor achievement against key performance indicators.
• Ensure maximum student participation and placement conversion rates.
• Create sector-wise placement strategies based on market demand.

Corporate Relations & Industry Engagement

• Build and maintain relationships with leading corporates, startups, MNCs, public sector organizations, and industry associations.
• Identify and onboard new recruiters across diverse sectors.
• Organize employer engagement activities including corporate visits, leadership talks, recruitment drives, and networking events.
• Collaborate with industry partners for internships, projects, live assignments, and pre-placement offers.

Student Training & Employability Development

• Design and implement comprehensive training programs focused on:
• Communication Skills
• Soft Skills Development
• Aptitude Training
• Group Discussions
• Interview Preparation
• Resume Building
• Career Readiness
• Industry Certifications
• Monitor student employability metrics and skill development progress.
• Introduce AI-driven learning and career readiness tools where applicable.

Internship Management

• Develop a structured internship framework for all programs.
• Facilitate internship opportunities with industry partners.
• Monitor internship quality, student participation, and employer feedback.

Industry-Academia Collaboration

• Collaborate with academic departments to align curriculum with industry requirements.
• Facilitate industry projects, mentorship programs, guest lectures, and workshops.
• Support industry-sponsored labs, Centers of Excellence, and innovation initiatives.

Alumni Engagement

• Leverage alumni networks for mentorship, internships, referrals, and placement opportunities.
• Organize alumni-industry interaction programs and networking events.

Team Leadership & Administration

• Lead and mentor the Training & Placement team.
• Establish standard operating procedures for placement and training activities.
• Manage departmental budgets and resources effectively.
• Prepare periodic reports and presentations for university leadership.

Data Management & Reporting

• Maintain accurate placement records and recruitment databases.
• Track key metrics including:
• Placement Percentage
• Average Salary
• Highest Salary
• Internship Participation
• Recruiter Engagement
• Student Employability Scores
• Generate MIS reports and placement analytics.
