Job Description


Position Overview

Senior Associate Payroll role involves processing payroll operations, ensuring statutory compliance with Indian regulations, and supporting employees with payroll-related queries.

Location: Tin Factory, Bangalore

Key Responsibilities


Core Payroll Operations

  • Process monthly payroll for employees accurately and in a timely manner
  • Calculate wages, overtime pay, allowances, and various deductions
  • Handle employee queries regarding payroll matters and resolve discrepancies promptly
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation, including employee earnings and deductions
  • Manage payroll mailbox to ensure queries are answered timely and filed appropriately

Statutory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Provident Fund (PF) regulations
  • Manage Employee State Insurance (ESI) contributions
  • Issue Form 16 to employees annually as proof of TDS deductions

Record Maintenance and Reporting

  • Maintain comprehensive employee records including PAN, Aadhaar, and bank details
  • Generate monthly and quarterly compliance reports
  • Conduct regular reconciliation of payroll accounts
  • Assist HR audits for the center

Collaboration and Support

  • Support payroll reporting and analysis for business needs
  • Assist with employee onboarding and termination processes

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Preferred MBA (Finance/Accounts) or Graduate (Preferably B.Com)
  • Knowledge of Indian accounting principles and practices

Experience

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in Indian statutory compliance
  • Experience handling payroll for large employee base preferred
  • Prior experience with Indian payroll regulations and statutory requirements

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Indian payroll statutory compliances: PF, ESI, TDS, Professional Tax, Gratuity
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and reporting
  • Understanding of Income Tax Act, Payment of Wages Act, and other relevant labor laws
  • Knowledge of state-specific labor regulations

  • Exceptional attention to detail critical for accurate payroll calculations and compliance
  • Strong analytical skills essential for data reconciliation and problem-solving
  • Time management skills ability to meet strict monthly payroll deadlines
  • Confidentiality handle sensitive employee information with integrity
