OpenText Senior Engineer

Role Summary

The OpenText Senior Engineer is a handson technical professional responsible for design, development, integration, and L2/L3 application support of the OpenText Enterprise Content Management (ECM) ecosystem.

The role requires strong business-facing and project-facing capabilities, enabling effective collaboration with functional stakeholders, solution designers, and support teams while ensuring operational stability and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Solution Design & Development

• Participate insolution design discussionswith business and technical stakeholders.
• Translate business requirements intotechnical designs and effort estimates, acting as an application designer when required.
• Design and develop complex solutions using:
• OpenText Content Server (OTCS / OTCM)
• xECM connectors
• OpenText Archive Center (OTAC)
• Ensure solutions align withOpenText ECM standards, architectural principles, and best practices.

2. OpenText Platform Engineering

• Configure, customize, and enhance OpenText modules including:
• Workflows, Forms, Smart UI perspectives
• Business Workspaces, Categories, Records Management
• WebReports / LiveReports
• Enterprise Connect, eLink
• Develop and maintain:
• AnswerModules Suite solutions (mandatory)
• OScript-based customizations
• Java extensions and integrations
• Apply OpenText and thirdparty patches in line with change management processes.

3. Archiving & SAP Integration

• Support and enhanceOpenText Archive Center (OTAC)including:
• SAP ArchiveLink
• SAP archiving scenarios
• Document Pipeline and viewing components
• Provide L2/L3 support forxECM for SAP Solutions, understanding:
• Architecture dependencies
• Integration impacts
• Synchronization and document lifecycle behavior

4. Integrations & APIs

• Design and support integrations using:
• OpenText REST APIs
• AnswerModules xECM for Everything
• Web services and middleware
• Integrate OpenText with enterprise platforms such as:
• SAP ECC / BW / BI
• ServiceNow, Salesforce
• MDM platforms and custom business applications

5. AMS L2 & L3 Support Responsibilities

• ProvideL2 and L3 operational supportfor OpenText solutions:
• Incident analysis and resolution
• Root cause analysis and fixes
• Performance and stability troubleshooting
• Support deployments, hotfixes, and emergency fixes.
• Createdeployment packages and clear deployment instructions.

6. DevOps & Technical Operations

• Apply DevOps principles, including:
• Source control
• CI/CD understanding
• Containerization concepts relevant to OpenText
• Possess working knowledge of:
• Databases (Oracle / SQL Server)
• Operating systems (Linux / Windows)

• 56 years of handson OpenText experience
• Mandatory expertise inAnswerModules Suite
• Strong skills in:
• Java, OScript, WebReports
• REST APIs and integrations
• Working experience inAMS / Managed Services environments
• Excellent communication skills across technical and business teams
