As a Hardware Developer for Cognitive Systems, you will design, develop, test, and deliver hardware offerings used in Cognitive Systems. You will utilize the latest technologies to create IBM hardware and technology products, ensuring components are unit tested and ready for integration into system products.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
• Develop Hardware Offerings: Design, develop, test, and deliver hardware offerings exclusively used in Cognitive Systems, using design documentation such as Functional Specifications and high-level design documents.
• Ensure Component Quality: Unit test components and ensure they are ready to be integrated into system products, providing fixes to defects identified by the verification team during the development life cycle.
• Test and Validate: Test the functional and RAS (reliability, availability, and serviceability) aspects of the implementation to deliver quality systems that meet market needs.
• Support Customer Environments: Provide end-to-end solutions and resolve issues in customer environments, supporting the delivery of differentiated solutions in the IBM Cloud.
• Collaborate on Design: Develop designs across the disciplines of mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineering, working to deliver quality systems that meet market needs.
• Exposure to Hardware Development: Experience working with design documentation, such as Functional Specifications and high-level design documents, to develop hardware offerings. • Understanding of Testing Methodologies: Familiarity with unit testing and validation of components to ensure readiness for integration into system products. • Knowledge of Engineering Disciplines: Exposure to mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineering principles and practices. • Familiarity with Cloud-Based Solutions: Experience working with cloud-based technologies, specifically in delivering differentiated solutions in the IBM Cloud. • Debugging and Troubleshooting: Exposure to identifying and resolving defects and issues in hardware offerings during the development life cycle.
• Cloud-Based Solution Delivery: Experience working with cloud-based technologies, specifically in delivering differentiated solutions in the IBM Cloud, is beneficial for this role. Familiarity with cloud-based technologies can aid in providing end-to-end solutions and resolving issues in customer environments. • Advanced Debugging Techniques: Exposure to advanced debugging and troubleshooting methodologies can be advantageous in identifying and resolving defects and issues in hardware offerings during the development life cycle.
