Role Overview

We are looking for an Odoo Developer to join our growing tech/operations team and work on ERP implementation, customization, and ongoing system improvements. WaterScience runs its operations (inventory, sales, purchase, accounting, and CRM) on Odoo, and this role will be central to keeping that system running smoothly and evolving with the business.

You'll work closely with teams across finance, supply chain, sales, and customer support to understand their workflows, identify gaps, and build solutions directly inside Odoo. While the primary focus is Odoo, you may also work on integrations with external platforms and other tools as the business needs evolve.

What Youll Do:

Odoo ERP Implementation and Support

• Implement and configure Odoo modules including Inventory, Accounting, Sales, Purchase, CRM, and Manufacturing based on business requirements
• Set up and manage master data, workflows, approval hierarchies, and access rights across modules
• Act as the first point of contact for day-to-day ERP issues debugging errors, fixing data discrepancies, and resolving user queries promptly
• Monitor system performance and proactively identify and fix recurring issues
• Maintain and continuously improve existing workflows, automations, and configurations as processes evolve

Customization and Development

• Design and develop custom Odoo modules, fields, views, and workflows using Python and XML
• Customize and build new reports (using QWeb, Odoo Studio, or custom reporting tools) to meet specific business needs
• Extend Odoo functionality to support unique business processes (e.g., D2C order flows, quick-commerce reconciliations, multi-warehouse inventory)
• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code and follow version control best practices (Git)

Integrations

• Build and maintain integrations between Odoo and external platforms such as Shopify, marketplaces, payment gateways, CRM tools, and customer support platforms
• Work with REST APIs and webhooks to enable real-time data sync between systems
• Troubleshoot integration failures and ensure data consistency across connected systems

Automation and Reporting

• Identify manual, repetitive processes across teams and build automations within Odoo to streamline them
• Create dashboards and operational reports for management (sales performance, inventory levels, finance summaries, etc.)
• Analyze ERP data to surface trends and insights that support business decision-making

User Training and Coordination

• Onboard new users onto relevant Odoo modules and provide hands-on training
• Create clear documentation, SOPs, and user guides for internal teams
• Gather feedback from business teams and translate it into system improvements
• Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize and roll out changes with minimal disruption

What We're Looking For:

• 13 years of hands-on experience with Odoo development and implementation
• Strong working knowledge of Python and XML
• Experience with databases (PostgreSQL/SQL) writing queries, understanding schema design
• Practical experience customizing Odoo modules (Inventory, Sales, Purchase, Accounting, CRM)
• Understanding of core business processes inventory management, order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, basic finance/accounting
• Experience working with REST APIs and third-party integrations
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Nice To Have:

• Experience with Shopify app development or Shopify-Odoo integrations
• Exposure to frontend technologies (JavaScript, OWL framework) or other backend frameworks
• Experience with QWeb reporting, Odoo Studio, or server actions
• Prior experience in an e-commerce/D2C or manufacturing environment
