Job Description

Location: Noida


The Network Engineer Juniper Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, administering, and troubleshooting Juniper-based network infrastructure across enterprise environments. The role ensures high availability, security, scalability, and optimal performance of Juniper routers, switches, and firewalls. The engineer will manage configuration, performance monitoring, patching, compliance, DR readiness, and support escalations while collaborating with crossfunctional teams and contributing to continuous improvement.


Primary Skills:

  • Deep expertise with Juniper MX, SRX, EX series
  • Strong command of Junos OS, CLI, and GUI tools
  • L2/L3 protocols: OSPF, BGP, MPLS, QoS, VLAN, Layer 2/3 switching
  • Network security fundamentals: firewall policies, IPS/IDS, DDoS mitigation
  • Performance monitoring (Junos Space, SolarWinds)
  • Troubleshooting complex network, connectivity, and security issues
  • Patch/upgrade management for Juniper devices


Secondary Skills:

  • Scripting & automation (Python, Ansible good to have)
  • Cloud networking exposure (AWS / Azure / GCP)
  • Virtualization concepts (VXLAN, SDN, VMware, HyperV)
  • Experience with nextgen firewalls & security tools
  • Familiarity with other vendor platforms (Cisco, Arista, Fortinet)
  • Documentation writing (SOPs, diagrams, DR plans)
  • Cross-team collaboration & vendor coordination


Experience:

  • 35 years of hands-on experience with Juniper devices in midlarge enterprise environments
  • Strong experience in network design, configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Experience supporting escalations (L2/L3) and performing RCA
  • Exposure to hybrid cloud networking, security integration, and multi-vendor environments (preferred)


A. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deploy Juniper-based network solutions across data centers, campus, and branch locations
  • Configure Juniper routers, firewalls, and switches (MX, SRX, EX)
  • Manage routing, VPNs, VLANs, QoS, and security policies
  • Monitor network health and performance using Junos Space/SolarWinds
  • Troubleshoot complex network, connectivity, and security issues
  • Provide L2/L3 escalation and root cause analysis
  • Implement and maintain network security practices (IPS/IDS, DDoS protection)
  • Maintain detailed network documentation, diagrams, SOPs
  • Execute firmware/software/hardware upgrades and patch management
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning
  • Collaborate with IT teams, vendors, and service providers
  • Research emerging Juniper technologies and recommend improvements


B. Additional Responsibilities:

  • Train and mentor junior network engineers
  • Support 24x7 on-call rotation for network emergencies
  • Coordinate vendor engagements, hardware procurement, and warranty claims
  • Support integration of new applications and systems into the network
  • Participate in maintenance windows (nights/weekends)
  • Follow organizational policies, security practices, and change management
  • Contribute to industry forums or networking communities (preferred)
