Key Responsibilities

  • Provide L2/L3 operational support for WAN and SDWAN services across geographically distributed sites using platforms such as VMware VeloCloud (preferred), Cisco SDWAN, Fortinet Secure SDWAN, Aruba EdgeConnect, or equivalent.
  • Participate in OnCall rotation (including weekends/after hours as required) to restore WAN outages and critical connectivity incidents within SLA.
  • Monitor WAN and SDWAN health using tools such as SolarWinds, VeloCloud Orchestrator, Cisco vManage, FortiManager/FortiAnalyzer, and act on performance, stability, and compliance issues.
  • Own internet edge and sitetosite connectivity, ensuring redundancy using dual ISPs, HA designs, and optimal routing/path selection.
  • Troubleshoot Layer3 WAN issues, including BGP peering, routing convergence, failover behavior, packet loss, latency, jitter, and path selection.
  • Support SDWAN overlay and underlay troubleshooting, tunnel stability, and applicationaware routing policies.
  • Drive DPMO and service reliability improvements by identifying recurring WAN defects and implementing preventive fixes.
  • Execute WAN GetWell initiatives, including EOL/EOS router replacements and SDWAN edge refresh programs.
  • Perform Cisco IOS upgrades, SDWAN edge software upgrades, and assist with WAN hardware lifecycle management.
  • Plan and execute maintenance window activities, including WAN cutovers, SDWAN turnups, migrations, ISP transitions, and postchange validation.
  • Create and follow Method of Procedure (MOP) documents and coordinate with ISPs, carriers, and field engineers.
  • Ensure configuration standardization and compliance across WAN routers and SDWAN devices.
  • Support incident, problem, and RCA processes, with clear documentation and stakeholder communication.
  • Work closely with LAN, Wireless, Security, Voice, and Service Desk teams to ensure endtoend connectivity and application reachability.
  • Support network segmentation and security integration, coordinating routing and trafficsteering with firewall and security teams.

What Would Your Day Look Like?

  • Review WAN/SDWAN health dashboards, ISP status, BGP adjacencies, and alerts at the start of the day.
  • Handle incidents involving ISP failures, BGP instability, SDWAN tunnel drops, and application performance issues.
  • Proactively monitor routing stability and failover/path optimization behavior.
  • Work with ISPs, telcos, and site teams to resolve circuit and lastmile issues.
  • Analyze recurring WAN defects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Execute planned maintenance such as IOS upgrades, SDWAN edge upgrades, new site turnups, and router refreshes.
  • Prepare and execute MOPbased changes, perform validations, and share postchange reports.
  • Participate in OnCall support, providing timely restoration, updates, and RCAs.
  • Develop or enhance automation scripts to reduce manual WAN/SDWAN operational effort.

Who Are We Looking For?

  • Bachelors Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering / Technology.

  • Strong understanding of WAN fundamentals: BGP, QoS, NAT, ACLs, IP SLA, ISP redundancy, and HA designs.
  • Experience supporting large or distributed enterprise WAN environments.
  • Comfortable troubleshooting routing, SDWAN overlay/underlay, ISP, and applicationpath issues.
  • Proactive mindset with ability to identify recurring issues and improve reliability.
  • Experience executing planned maintenance, software upgrades, and hardware refreshes.
  • Disciplined approach to configuration standards and documentation.
