Job Description
Job Title: Naval Architect
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Naval Architect to lead the vessel design process from concept through detailed engineering. The role involves ensuring compliance with client requirements, classification rules, and statutory regulations while coordinating with cross-functional teams to deliver efficient and cost-effective designs.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Engineering
- Lead the overall vessel design process from concept development to detailed engineering.
- Develop and monitor design schedules in line with project timelines.
- Ensure all designs comply with client specifications, classification society rules, and statutory regulations.
- Establish and maintain design standards, procedures, and templates.
- Optimize designs for cost-effectiveness, material utilization, and production efficiency.
Coordination & Communication
- Work closely with Production, Procurement, and Project Management teams.
- Liaise with clients for design approvals, clarifications, and technical discussions.
- Coordinate with vendors for technical integration of equipment and systems.
- Collaborate with consultants and classification bodies to ensure compliance and approvals.
Documentation & Control
- Ensure proper document control and revision management.
- Manage design changes effectively and maintain traceability of all revisions.
Project Support & Execution
- Provide technical support during construction, installation, testing, and commissioning stages.
- Resolve design-related issues arising at the site.
- Participate in inspections, sea trials, and testing activities as required.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and guide the design team.
- Allocate resources and assign responsibilities effectively.
- Monitor team performance and support skill development initiatives.
Requirements & Skills
- Bachelors/Masters degree in Naval Architecture (Mandaory)
- Strong knowledge of classification rules (ABS, DNV, Lloyds, etc.) and statutory regulations.
- Proficiency in marine design software (AutoCAD, Rhino, Maxsurf, etc.).
- Excellent project management and coordination skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in vessel design and engineering (customize as needed).
- Proven experience in handling projects from concept to commissioning.
Pay Range :
- 90000 to 100000 per month
