Role Objective

As the Murex Test Lead, you will be responsible for the functional QA delivery for a comprehensive Murex 3.1 implementation. This role requires a strategic leader with deep domain expertise in Treasury operations to manage complex testing lifecycles. You will bridge the gap between the bank's business requirements and the technical configuration of the Murex platform, ensuring that the migration and implementation meet the high standards of the UAE/GCC financial market.

Key Responsibilities

1. QA Strategy & Governance

Define the Master Test Plan and functional strategy for the Murex rollout, covering SIT, UAT, Regression, and Parallel Run phases.

Oversee the end-to-end trade lifecycle validationfrom front-office deal capture and risk management to back-office accounting and settlements.

Act as the primary point of contact for UAE-based stakeholders, providing daily execution heatmaps and risk-mitigation strategies to the SteerCo.

2. Treasury Product Mastery (Conventional & Islamic)

Lead the validation of a diverse portfolio including FX Derivatives (Options, NDFs), Interest Rate Derivatives (Swaps, Caps/Floors), Fixed Income, and Money Markets.

Oversee specialized testing for Islamic Treasury (Sharia-Compliant) products used in the UAE, such as Murabaha, Sukuk, and Waad.

Ensure the system accurately handles profit-sharing logic, Sharia accounting entries, and regional market conventions.

3. Automation Project Management (Preferred)

Spearhead the transition toward a Continuous Testing model by managing Murex-specific automation initiatives.

Oversee the selection and implementation of automation tools (e.g., Onyx, Selenium, or bespoke Python frameworks) to optimize regression cycles.

Define automation KPIs and demonstrate ROI to senior management through reduced manual effort and increased test coverage.

4. Team Leadership & Communication

Mentor and manage a high-performing team of Senior Test Engineers in the India office.

Facilitate seamless communication between the offshore delivery team and the onsite business users in the UAE.

Lead daily defect triage meetings and ensure a rigorous "Zero-Critical-Defect" policy before production go-live.

Required Technical Qualifications

Murex Expertise: Minimum 8 years in Treasury QA, with at least 34 years of leadership experience on Murex 3.1 projects.

Domain Depth: Comprehensive understanding of global and regional treasury instruments.

Regional Experience: Strong familiarity with the UAE/GCC banking landscape, specifically regarding Central Bank regulations and local currency settlement logic.

Tools: Proficiency in JIRA, Micro Focus ALM, and Murex Simulation/Data Mart tools.

Candidate Profile

Education: B.E. / B.Tech / MCA; MBA Finance or CFA/FRM certification is highly desirable.

Communication: Exceptional verbal and written English skills; ability to present complex technical risks in business-friendly language to CXO-level stakeholders.

Analytical Mindset: Expert-level ability to analyze complex financial calculations and risk reports.

Work Schedule: Flexibility to align with the SundayThursday work week of the UAE/GCC region.

Preferred Skills

Proven track record in managing Murex automation projects from inception to execution.

Prior experience in Murex binary upgrades or full-cycle greenfield implementations.

Knowledge of MxML exchange and external market data integration (Bloomberg/Reuters).
